Job summary

Coats Group plc in Gujarat is seeking an Executive - Health & Safety to lead the safety program across operations. You will ensure compliance with legal requirements, drive audit processes, and set safety standards for all personnel.

The role focuses on training, incident analysis, emergency preparedness, and fostering a proactive safety culture. NEBOSH IGC certification is mandatory, with 3+ years of H&S experience and strong communication in Gujarati/Hindi.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in H&S.
• NEBOSH IGC certification mandatory.
• BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Industrial Safety Engineering or PDIS with Gujarat + B.Tech in ME/EE.
• Good communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Gujarati/Hindi language is mandatory.
• Experience in similar area.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Review and update Safety Standards for all processes.
• Conduct shop floor safety audits and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and audit SOPs in manufacturing to meet safety standards.
• Prepare and implement H&S trainings.
• Fire protection – periodic monitoring.
• Ensure 100% compliance with legal and Coats H&S guidelines.
• Build safety culture among employees.
• Ensure emergency preparedness and continuous improvement.
• H&S training and implementation support.
• Incident analysis and horizontal deployment.
• Follow up on H&S guidelines and legal requirements.
• Review H&S requirements with managers and site leaders.
• Implement safety systems and action plans; level up 5S.

Role Purpose

Overall responsibility to ensure Health & Safety of operations. Responsible for ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and for providing assurance of compliance through audit and gap assessment. Set standards for meeting the operational skill of all personnel and manage assessments, gap analysis, and training requirements.

Principal Accountabilities & Key Activities

• Review and continuously update the Safety Standards for all the processes.
• Conduct shop floor Safety audits, Identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and auditing of SOP’s in manufacturing process to deliver consistent results to best safety standards.
• Preparation & Implementation of H&S trainings.
• Fire Protection - Periodic monitoring system.
• Ensuring 100% compliance towards Legal & Coats H&S guideline requirements
• Build the Safety culture to the employees
• Ensuring emergency preparedness level and improve the existing condition

Activity Description:

• H&S Training & Support for Implementation.
• Analysis of incidents Investigation and its horizontal deployment.
• Coats H&S guideline & Legal requirements follow up.
• H&S requirements review with department managers, zone coordinators & Site managers in regular basis.
• Implementation and ensuring the safety system and make action plans to improve the conditions.
• Implementation & level up of 5S

Education, Qualifications and Experience

• 3+ years of experience in H&S
• Certification in NEBOSH IGC is Mandatory
• BE/B.Tech/ME / M.Tech in Industrial Safety Engineering or Post Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS) in Gujarat + B.tech in ME/EE.
• Good Communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Gujarati/Hindi language is mandatory.
• Experience in similar area.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
