Coats Group plc is seeking a dedicated Environment, Health & Safety professional for our Ambasamudram operations. The role focuses on ensuring health and safety compliance, conducting audits, and training teams to meet Coats HSE standards.

The candidate will lead safety programs, drive continuous improvement, and embed a proactive safety culture while coordinating with site managers and department heads.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH IGC certification is mandatory.
  • ME/MTech in Industrial Safety Engineering is mandatory.
  • Tamil language proficiency is mandatory.
  • Good communication abilities.
  • Experience in environment and health & safety.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Review and update safety standards for processes.
  • Conduct shop floor safety audits and identify improvements.
  • Develop and audit SOPs to ensure safety.
  • Deliver and implement HSE trainings.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and Coats HSE guidelines.
  • Build safety culture among employees.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness and incident investigations.
  • Implement and level up 5S practices.

Role Purpose

Overall responsibility to ensure EnvironmentHealth & Safety of operations. Responsible for ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and for providing assurance of compliance through audit and gap assessment. Set standards for meeting the operational skill of all personnel and manage assessments, gap analysis, and training requirements.

Principal Accountabilities & Key Activities
  • Review and continuously update the Safety Standards for all the processes.
  • Conduct shop floor Safety audits, Identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and auditing of SOP’s in manufacturing process to deliver consistent results to best safety standards.
  • Preparation & Implementation of H&S trainings.
  • Fire Protection - Periodic monitoring system.
  • Ensuring 100% compliance towards Legal & Coats H&S guideline requirements
  • Build the Safety culture to the employees
  • Ensuring emergency preparedness level and improve the existing condition
Activity Description:
  • H&S Training & Support for Implementation.
  • Analysis of incidents Investigation and its horizontal deployment.
  • Coats H&S guideline & Legal requirements follow up.
  • H&S requirements review with department managers, zone coordinators & Site managers in regular basis.
  • Implementation and ensuring the safety system and make action plans to improve the conditions.
  • Implementation & level up of 5S
Education, Qualifications and Experience
  • 3+ years of experience Environment as well as H&S
  • Certification in NEBOSH IGC is Mandatory
  • ME / MTech in Industrial Safety Engineering (Mandatory)
  • Proficiency in Tamil language is mandatory.
  • Good Communication abilities.
  • Experience in similar area.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
