Job Description - Event Design & Vision Partner
The Role:
As an Event Design & Vision Partner, you will work closely with the sales and event operations teams to understand a client's brief, develop the creative direction and present the event in a way that makes the client immediately visualize the final experience.
You will create event concepts, moodboards, PPT presentations, layouts, visual references and 3D renders wherever required, while keeping the concept realistic, budget-conscious and operationally executable.
You will essentially become the creative brain between the client, Ploomm and the execution team.
1. Understand the Client's Vision
- Participate in client briefing and discovery meetings.
- Understand the occasion, audience, theme, venue, budget and expectations.
- Convert vague ideas into a clear creative direction.
- Ask the right questions to understand what the client is actually imagining.
- Identify opportunities to elevate the experience beyond the initial brief.
2. Build the Event Vision
Develop complete event concepts including:
- Theme and creative direction
- Colour palette
- Dcor direction
- Stage and backdrop concepts
- Entrance and welcome experience
- Seating layouts
- Tablescape concepts
- Lighting and ambience
- Branding and signage
- Floral and installation concepts
- Entertainment zones
- Guest experience touchpoints
- Photo/video moments
- Food and beverage presentation
- Corporate branding environments
- Overall event flow and experience
3. Create Client Presentations
Create visually strong and convincing presentations using tools such as:
- PowerPoint
- Canva
- Google Slides
- Keynote
- Photoshop
- Illustrator
- Figma
- Any other relevant design tools
- Presentations may include:
- Moodboards
- Concept boards
- Reference images
- Venue layouts
- Floor plans
- Design elevations
- Colour palettes
- Vendor references
- Material references
- Budget-linked concepts
- Event flow
- Guest journey
4. 3D Visualisation & Renders
Where required, create or coordinate:
- 3D event renders
- Stage renders
- Venue visualisations
- Entrance concepts
- Seating layouts
- Dcor installations
- Booths and exhibition areas
- Corporate event environments
5. Work Closely with Sales
You will work alongside the sales team during the conversion process.
Your role will be to help sales answer:
Why should the client choose this concept?
You will:
- Join important client presentations.
- Help sales present the creative concept.
- Translate client requirements into visual proposals.
- Create customized presentations for high-value opportunities.
- Help overcome the objection of I can't imagine how it will look.
- Make proposals feel premium and personalized.
6. Work Closely with Event Operations
You will therefore work closely with the operations team to ensure that every concept is:
- Venue-compatible
- Budget-compatible
- Vendor-executable
- Logistically practical
- Safe
- Time-efficient
- Realistic in terms of materials and manpower
7. Vendor Collaboration
Work with Ploomm's vendor network to:
- Source creative possibilities.
- Understand vendor capabilities.
- Get material/design references.
- Obtain execution estimates.
- Identify new dcor and experience partners.
- Translate creative requirements into vendor briefs.
What We Are Looking For
- We are looking for someone who combines:
- Creative thinking + Event understanding + Visual communication + Execution sense.
- You should have a strong understanding of how events are actually built, not just how they look on Pinterest or Instagram.
Must Have
- 2 - 5 years of experience in event design, event production, dcor, experiential design, wedding design or a related field.
- Strong understanding of event layouts and spatial design.
- Strong PowerPoint/Canva presentation skills.
- Ability to create compelling moodboards and concepts.
- Strong visual sense.
- Understanding of event dcor, lighting, furniture, branding and production.
- Ability to work with clients and understand their requirements.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work under tight timelines.
- Ability to coordinate with vendors and operations teams.
Good to Have
- 3D rendering experience.
- SketchUp / AutoCAD / 3ds Max / Blender / Lumion / Enscape or similar tools.
- Photoshop / Illustrator experience.
- Experience with luxury weddings or premium social events.
- Corporate event and experiential design experience.
- Exhibition / activation / brand experience design.
- Knowledge of production costing and event materials.
