Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of EV/Automotive experience, a 3‑year Diploma in Automotive Engineering or ITI Auto Technician, and fluent English.

JOB PURPOSE

The EV Service Technician will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, servicing and maintenance of Electric Vehicles (EVs) in accordance with manufacturer repair procedures, technical standards, HSE requirements and workshop quality standards.

The role requires strong knowledge of EV electrical/electronic systems, high-voltage systems, battery systems and vehicle diagnostics, with the ability to identify and resolve technical faults efficiently and safely.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnose and repair Electric Vehicles according to approved manufacturer procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing of EVs.
• Diagnose electrical, electronic and mechanical faults using approved diagnostic equipment.
• Work safely on high-voltage EV systems, batteries, charging systems and related components.
• Use diagnostic scanners and technical information systems for fault finding.
• Inspect and troubleshoot EV battery systems, electric motors, inverters, converters and charging components.
• Repair vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and perform electrical testing.
• Accurately identify root causes of faults and complete repairs within allocated time.
• Report additional faults, repair requirements and parts requirements to the Team Leader/Supervisor.
• Ensure additional repairs are properly authorized before commencement.
• Complete job cards, repair orders and technical documentation accurately.
• Follow warranty procedures and manufacturer requirements.
• Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment and workshop equipment in good condition.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Follow all company HSE and EV high-voltage safety procedures.
• Follow HV isolation and lock-out/tag-out procedures where applicable.
• Handle and dispose of replaced components and workshop waste responsibly.
• Meet workshop productivity, efficiency and quality targets.
• Attend manufacturer technical training and other required technical programs.
• Keep updated with new EV technologies and vehicle systems.
• Support the Team Leader in urgent repairs and meeting customer delivery requirements.
• Work additional hours when required for critical repairs.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma in Automotive Engineering or related field.

Industrial Technical Institute (ITI) – Certified Auto Technician Course (2-year vocational program).

3-5 years of hands-on experience in Electric Vehicle (EV) maintenance and repair.

Fluency in English, with strong communication skills.

Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues on electric vehicles
