Job summary

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in EV technology, battery systems, or high‑voltage safety (preferred).
  • Experience: 1-4 years of hands-on experience as an EV Engineer or technician, with focus on EV systems.
  • Experience with EV powertrains, battery management systems, electrical systems, and charging infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • EV diagnostics and troubleshooting on EV systems.
  • EV maintenance and repairs including batteries and charging systems.
  • Battery system maintenance and BMS calibration.
  • Install and troubleshoot EV charging infrastructure.
  • Software updates and calibrations per manufacturer guidelines.

JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electric Vehicle (EV) Engineer to join our team. The EV Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of electric vehicles (EVs), ensuring their optimal performance, reliability, and safety. The role requires hands‑on expertise with EV systems, including battery packs, powertrains, charging infrastructure, and electrical components.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • EV Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:
    • o Conduct diagnostic tests on EV systems, including battery packs, motors, inverters, chargers, and other power electronics.
    • o Use specialized diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues with electrical, mechanical, and software systems.
    • o Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including faulty components, software errors, and power management issues.
  • EV Maintenance and Repairs:
    • o Perform routine maintenance and inspections on electric vehicles, ensuring all systems are functioning properly.
    • o Repair and replace faulty components such as batteries, charging systems, powertrains, and electrical circuits.
    • o Carry out preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal vehicle performance and extend the lifespan of EV components.
  • Battery System Maintenance:
    • o Monitor, inspect, and maintain battery health by checking charge cycles, voltage levels, and thermal conditions.
    • o Assist in battery pack replacement, BMS (Battery Management System) calibration, and ensure compliance with safety standards during battery-related maintenance.
    • o Troubleshoot issues related to battery performance and charging systems, ensuring that EV batteries are charged safely and efficiently.
  • Charging Infrastructure:
    • o Install, maintain, and troubleshoot EV charging stations, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
    • o Ensure that all charging stations are compliant with local standards and regulations.
    • o Monitor and maintain charging network performance, responding to any issues or failures.
  • Software Updates and Calibration:
    • o Perform software updates and recalibrate vehicle systems (such as BMS or control units) based on manufacturer guidelines.
    • o Assist with updating firmware for vehicle ECUs (Electronic Control Units) and other software components.
  • Quality Control & Safety:
    • o Ensure all repairs and services meet safety, quality, and manufacturer standards.
    • o Follow safety procedures when handling high‑voltage components and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
    • o Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety guidelines related to EV systems.
  • Customer Service & Support:
    • o Provide customers with advice on maintaining their EVs and ensuring optimal performance.
    • o Document all services, repairs, and parts replaced, ensuring clear and accurate reporting for each service job.
    • o Assist in training customers or end‑users on basic maintenance and the proper handling of their electric vehicles.
  • Technical Documentation:
    • o Maintain accurate service records, including vehicle history, parts replaced, repairs conducted, and inspections performed.
    • o Follow technical manuals and manufacturer’s instructions to ensure correct procedures are followed for all service tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educational Background:
    • o Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
    • o Certification in EV technology, battery systems, or high‑voltage safety (preferred).
  • Experience:
    • o 1-4 years of hands‑on experience as an EV Engineer or technician, with a focus on electric vehicle systems.
    • o Experience working with EV powertrains, battery management systems, electrical systems, and charging infrastructure.
  • Technical Skills:
    • o Strong knowledge of EV systems, including motors, batteries, power electronics, and charging systems.
    • o Familiarity with diagnostic tools, software, and testing equipment used in EV maintenance.
    • o Knowledge of high‑voltage safety protocols and procedures.
    • o Basic understanding of software systems in EVs, including firmware updates and calibrations.
