Job summary

Watchdog Security in Mumbai seeks a Tendering & Estimation Engineer with 4–8 years of experience in estimation, costing and system integration (ELV, BMS, Fire, CCTV, access control). You will analyze drawings, BOQs, RFPs/RFQs to prepare techno-commercial bids for government and private projects.

Role involves coordinating with design, procurement and project teams to ensure accurate cost forecasting, value engineering and timely tender submission.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of estimation and costing experience for ELV/MEP projects (Govt./Private).
• Proven ability to read drawings, BOQs, and specifications for accurate pricing.
• Diploma/BE/BTech in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Study drawings, BOQs, RFPs/RFQs to understand scope and requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost sheets, rate analyses and BOQs for systems (Fire, CCTV, access control, BMS/IBMS, electrical/MEP).
• Coordinate with OEMs and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and offers.
• Analyze client requirements and conduct pre-bid technical reviews for accurate inputs.
• Maintain estimation records and generate bid reports.

Job Title: Tendering & Estimation Engineer ((ELV, BMS, Fire, IBMS, MEP)

Experience: 4-8 years of relevant experience in estimation and costing (Pvt./Govt.)

Job Summary

The Tendering & Estimation Engineer with a strong technical and commercial acumen in system integration,fire safety systems, ELV systems (CCTV, access control, PA), automation, BMS, electrical and MEP projects.This role involves analyzing project drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and client requirements to prepare accurate and competitive techno-commercial proposals for both government and private sector projects. The Tendering & Estimation Engineer works closely with the design, procurement, and project teams to ensure reliable cost forecasting and value engineering.

Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related field

Key Responsibilities

1.Estimation and Costing

• Study technical drawings, BOQs, RFPs/RFQs, and specifications to understand project scope and requirements
• Prepare detailed cost sheets, rate analysis, and BOQs for:
• Fire alarm and fire fighting systems
• CCTV, access control, and communication systems
• Building automation and control (BMS/IBMS)
• Electrical and MEP systems
• Break down material, labor, and service costs, subcontractors and compile complete costing sheets
• Factor in logistics, overheads, statutory charges, and applicable taxes in pricing
• Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals for tenders and RFQs (govt. & private)
• Ensure all submissions are as per tender compliance, including pre-qualification documents, formats, vendor registrations, and annexures
• Prepare deviation/justification documents where necessary
• Work with BD, design, and project teams to compile complete bid packages and align tender strategy ensuring timely submission

3.Vendor and Material Coordination

• Liaise with OEMs and suppliers to get competitive pricing and technical offers
• Evaluate multiple vendor options for cost, availability, compliance, and delivery
• Maintain a cost database of materials, services, and subcontractor rates
• Identify opportunities for value engineering

4.Technical/Commercial Evaluation

• Analyze client requirements or consultant discussions and suggest optimized or value-engineered solutions
• Conduct pre-bid technical reviews with internal stakeholders (design, procurement, execution) for accurate inputs
• Analyze client feedback, update costing assumptions, and optimize margins accordingly

5.Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain estimation records for all projects including cost breakdowns, assumptions, and supplier rates
• Prepare project cost comparisons and revise estimates based on updated information
• Generate periodic estimation reports and bid-win analysis

Technical Skills

• Deep understanding of ELV, CCTV,Fire Fighting, alarm MEP & BMS systems
• Strong communication & client coordination
• Excellent reading of drawings, specifications, BOQs
• Knowledge of IS/NBC/NFPA/IEC standards
• Proficient in Excel, AutoCAD, PDF editing tools, Estimation tools
• Exposure to Govt. tender platforms (CPWD, GEM)
