Job Description

The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and financial analysis for various infrastructure projects including roads, buildings, water supply, sewerage, and urban development works. The role involves close coordination with design, planning, and project teams to ensure accurate and competitive project costing in line with government standards and SOR.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of detailed cost estimates and BOQs based on drawings, specifications, and site conditions
• Analysis of Schedule of Rates (SOR) such as Gujarat R&B, GWSSB, and other applicable standards
• Preparation of rate analysis for non-SOR items as per market rates and standard practices
• Quantity take-off from drawings (AutoCAD / manual measurement)
• Preparation of tender cost estimates and bid documents
• Cost comparison and evaluation of contractor bids
• Coordination with design and PMC teams for cost optimization
• Updating cost database and market rate trends
• Supporting DPR preparation with accurate cost inputs
• Mandatory Requirement: Proficiency in Gujarati language (Reading, Writing, and Speaking) is essential.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Diploma with strong experience can apply)
• 2–5 years of experience in planning and estimation for Gujarat Government projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and civil engineering design tools.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, estimation techniques, and engineering standards.
• Knowledge of government tendering procedures, BOQ preparation, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities for working with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualification

• Experience with R&B, GWSSB, Urban Development Authorities, or GIDC projects
• Basic knowledge of contract terms
