Job Description

An ER Registrar is responsible for providing clinical support in the emergency department, including initial patient assessment, emergency management, documentation, and coordination with consultants and clinical teams. The assists in timely stabilization and ongoing care of emergency patients while following hospital protocols, patient-safety standards, and appropriate escalation procedures.

• Assess emergency patients promptly on arrival.
• Record relevant patient history and clinical information.
• Perform physical examinations and initial clinical assessments.
• Monitor vital signs and patient condition.
• Assist with triage and prioritization of emergency cases.
• Initiate appropriate emergency management under supervision and hospital protocols.
• Assist with BLS, CPR, airway management, and emergency stabilization as trained.
• Order or coordinate appropriate investigations as authorized.
• Review laboratory and imaging reports with the treating team.
• Assist consultants and senior doctors in emergency procedures.
• Monitor patients for changes in clinical condition.
• Escalate deteriorating or critical patients promptly.
• Coordinate with ICU, OT, radiology, laboratory, blood bank, and other departments.
• Assist with admission, transfer, referral, and discharge processes.
• Participate in emergency rounds and handovers.
