Job summary

Ish Solar is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead EPC project management, focusing on solar and renewable energy projects. The role involves overseeing the entire project lifecycle, ensuring safety and compliance, and driving business development initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, an MBA preferred, and over 10 years of experience in handling projects from inception to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10-12 years of experience in EPC Project Management, preferably in Solar or Renewable Energy.
• Proven experience in handling end-to-end EPC projects from bidding to commissioning.
• Strong understanding of solar power systems and project execution methodologies.

Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

1. Project Management (End-to-End EPC Execution)

• Lead complete EPC project lifecycle from Engineering to Commissioning.
• Prepare project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Ensure project completion within timeline, scope, and budget.
• Monitor project progress and implement risk mitigation plans.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Site Execution, and QA/QC teams.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, EHS requirements, and statutory regulations.
• Conduct project review meetings and submit MIS/progress reports to management.

2. Sales & Business Development

• Identify and develop new EPC business opportunities.
• Manage client acquisition, retention, and key account relationships.
• Lead tendering, bidding, and proposal submissions (technical & commercial).
• Negotiate contracts and finalize project agreements.
• Achieve sales targets and revenue growth objectives.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies.

3. Commercial & Financial Management

• Prepare project cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts.
• Monitor project profitability and ensure margin achievement.
• Control project costs and optimize resource utilization.
• Ensure timely billing, invoicing, and payment collections.
• Identify financial risks and implement cost-control measures.

4. Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and manage cross‑functional EPC teams.
• Mentor Project Managers, Engineers, and Site Personnel.
• Ensure effective communication among clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Drive team performance, productivity, and capability development.

5. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Develop and manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
• Negotiate procurement and subcontracting agreements.
• Ensure timely procurement and material availability.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and business partners.
• Resolve project‑related escalations and stakeholder concerns.

6. Risk, Compliance & Quality Management

• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and industry requirements.
• Implement and monitor Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) systems.
• Ensure adherence to EHS standards and safe work practices across project sites.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 1012 years of experience in EPC Project Management, preferably in Solar, Renewable Energy, Power, or Industrial Projects.
• Proven experience in handling end-to-end EPC projects from bidding to commissioning.
• Strong understanding of solar power systems, electrical infrastructure, and project execution methodologies.
