Job summary

UPL Limited in India seeks an EHS & Compliance professional to ensure adherence to environmental regulations and manage permits, consents, and regulatory reporting.

You will oversee operation of ETP, STP, and Air Pollution Control Systems to ensure compliance with emission and effluent norms, and drive a safety culture across the site. ISO 14001 implementation, audits, risk assessments, and ESG initiatives form a core part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with GPCB, CPCB, Hazardous Waste Rules, Water Act, Air Act, MSIHC Rules, and other applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations
• Manage environmental permits and statutory compliance, including consent applications, environmental returns, legal compliance registers, and regulatory reporting.
• Oversee operation and performance of ETP, STP, and Air Pollution Control Systems to ensure compliance with emission and effluent discharge norms.
• Administer hazardous waste management, including storage, labeling, manifest preparation, transportation, disposal through authorized recyclers/TSDF, and waste minimization initiatives.
• Monitor environmental parameters such as air emissions, ambient air quality, wastewater, and noise levels; analyze trends and implement corrective actions for deviations.
• Implement and maintain ISO 14001 and EHS management systems, conduct audits, aspect-impact assessments, risk assessments (HIRA/JSA), and ensure closure of audit observations.
• Drive EHS culture and sustainability initiatives through employee training, incident investigations, safety inspections, ESG reporting, water conservation, carbon footprint reduction, and promotion of safe work practices across the site
