Manager – Product Development

Job Purpose

The individual provides technical leadership and expertise for developing and supporting new and existing software products at HCA Healthcare. He/She will lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and cost‑efficient solutions that align with business goals. This role involves managing a team of engineers, ensuring adherence to industry standards, and driving innovation in cloud infrastructure and application development. The role requires effective collaboration with our HQ teams in the US and cross‑functional teams to implement robust cloud strategies and applications while optimizing performance and costs. This individual will analyze business requirements, perform design tasks, construct, test, and implement solutions with little supervision in an agile development environment, and mentor other developers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Development Standards: Maintain code and version control using HCA Healthcare standards.
• Lead Development Projects: Oversee projects from inception to implementation.
• Unit Testing and Code Reviews: Ensure thorough testing and peer reviews.
• Advanced Troubleshooting: Provide advanced user support and troubleshooting.
• Establish KPIs: Set and evaluate key performance indicators for technology adoption.

Qualifications

• B.Tech or Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related fields.
• Relevant certifications such as Google Professional Cloud Architect or Azure Solutions Architect Expert are a plus.
• Total 10+ years’ experience in engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years in cloud architecture or related fields.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in leading and managing cloud teams.
• People Management: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams; experience conducting performance reviews, setting goals, and creating career development plans; strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration across diverse teams.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in cloud platforms like GCP and Azure; container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, GKE, Cloud Run; proficiency in Python, Node.js and polyglot programming; experience with data orchestration tools (Airflow, Composer) and real‑time streaming (GCP Pub/Sub, Kafka); experience with Event‑Driven Architecture; Redis Cache implementations; Terraform, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines; PostgreSQL, BigQuery, NoSQL; monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Stackdriver, Azure Monitor); Dynatrace; cloud security best practices; CI/CD and Terraform knowledge.
• Other Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation skills; strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking; experience managing budgets, optimizing cloud costs and driving ROI; proactive mindset with focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
