Overview
The Cloud Architect will design, implement, and govern secure, compliant, and scalable cloud and hybrid cloud architectures with a primary focus on US Healthcare systems and secondary applicability across Telecom, Finance, and Banking domains. This role will lead the architecture of HIPAA-compliant healthcare platforms, integrating Big Data, AI/ML, GenAI, RPA, and API-driven automation across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The Cloud Architect will ensure data privacy, regulatory compliance, and high availability while enabling innovation through intelligent, AI-driven cloud solutions.
Responsibilities
- AWS Infrastructure Management & Automation
- Design and govern HIPAA-compliant cloud and hybrid architectures for healthcare systems including EHR/EMR, claims processing, clinical analytics, and patient engagement platforms.
- Define enterprise cloud reference architectures, landing zones, and governance models tailored for US healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HITECH, CMS).
- Architect hybrid cloud solutions to support on-prem clinical systems integrated with public cloud services.
Hybrid & Multi-Cloud Infrastructure Architecture
- Architect and oversee hybrid and multi-cloud platforms across:
- oAWS: EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, VPC
- oAzure: Virtual Machines, Blob Storage, Azure SQL, AKS, VNet
- oGCP: Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, GKE, VPC
- Design secure connectivity between on-prem data centers and cloud platforms using VPNs, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, and Interconnect.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep for consistent deployments.
Big Data & Healthcare Analytics
- Architect healthcare data platforms using cloud-native analytics and Big Data services:
- oAWS: EMR, Redshift, Glue, Athena
- oAzure: Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Databricks
- oGCP: BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc
- Enable ingestion and processing of structured and unstructured healthcare data (HL7, FHIR, claims, imaging metadata).
- Integrate AI-driven analytics to support population health, clinical insights, and operational optimization.
AI, ML & GenAI Enablement
- Design architectures supporting ML/DL and GenAI workloads for healthcare use cases such as predictive risk modeling, fraud detection, and operational forecasting.
- Integrate GenAI platforms (AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI) with strict data governance and PHI protection.
- Enable MLOps pipelines that meet healthcare auditability and traceability requirements.
API & Integration Architecture
- Design secure API frameworks for healthcare interoperability (FHIR, REST, event-driven architectures).
- Enable integration between cloud platforms, healthcare applications, and third-party vendors.
- Support hybrid integration patterns applicable to Telecom, Finance, and Banking systems requiring low latency and high throughput.
Security, Compliance & Risk Management
- Architect Zero Trust security models with encryption, IAM, key management, and network segmentation.
- Automate compliance monitoring, risk detection, and remediation using AI-driven security analytics and RPA.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, SOX, GDPR, supporting cross-industry requirements.
Cost Optimization & Cloud Economics (FinOps)
- Design cost-efficient architectures while meeting healthcare uptime and compliance requirements.
- Implement FinOps practices for hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including chargeback and usage forecasting.
- Enable automated cost and utilization reporting using AI-driven insights and RPA workflows.
Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with strong exposure to US Healthcare systems.
- Proven experience designing HIPAA-compliant and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Cloud certifications preferred:
- oAWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
- oMicrosoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- oGoogle Professional Cloud Architect
- Experience supporting Telecom, Finance, or Banking cloud initiatives is a strong plus.
Technical Expertise
- Deep expertise across AWS, Azure, and GCP with hybrid cloud integration.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7) and PHI security controls.
- Hands-on experience with Big Data platforms, Databricks, and cloud-native analytics services.
- Experience with AI/ML, GenAI platforms, and secure MLOps pipelines.
- Proficiency in IaC, CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices.
- Strong experience with API design, integration, and workflow automation (RPA).

- Strong domain understanding of US Healthcare regulations and compliance.
- Ability to design secure, resilient hybrid cloud solutions for regulated industries.

- Excellent communication skills, especially in explaining complex cloud architectures and AI solutions to non-technical teams.
- Familiarity with cloud cost optimization and Big Data platforms for scalable infrastructure management.
- Ability to design and implement secure, AI-driven cloud infrastructures using RPA and API integrations.
