Job Overview

We are looking for a Cloud Architect with strong experience working with the Azure cloud platform, who will take ownership of hosting, architecting, building, and maintaining applications across cloud providers. The Cloud Architect will design, manage, maintain, and optimize Azure-based infrastructure. Azure experience is a must-have, and at least some working exposure to GCP is preferred.

This role also requires a product mindset — working closely with stakeholders across design, backend, and business functions to build a scalable platform that fulfills business requirements.

This is an individual contributor position. As scope and business need progress over time, the team will be expanded, and this role may take on broader responsibilities at that stage.

Responsibilities
  • Architect and design solutions to meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Create and review architecture and solution design artifacts.
  • Enforce adherence to architectural standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards, etc.
  • Proactively provide guidance on engineering methodologies, standards, and leading practices.
  • Review as-built configurations during the construction phase to ensure alignment with architecture standards.
  • Provide insight and direction on roles and responsibilities required for solution operations.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks, assumptions, issues, and decisions throughout the full lifecycle.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Analyze and operate at various levels of abstraction.
  • Exhibit strong communication and influencing skills to align stakeholders around architectural decisions.
  • Apply excellent technical architecture skills, enabling the creation of future-proof solutions.
  • Maintain knowledge and experience in IT methodologies and life cycles relevant to the role.
  • Stay familiar with solution implementation/management and service/operations management.
  • Maintain close awareness of new and emerging technologies and their potential application to service offerings and products.
  • Operate as an individual contributor in this role; as scope and business need progress over time, the team will be expanded accordingly.
Required Skills
  • Total professional experience: 10+ years.
  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree or equivalency (CS, CE, or engineering discipline).
  • Experience in an architecture role using service and hosting solutions such as private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms.
  • Experience in architecting and designing technical solutions for Microsoft-centric solutions based on industry standards using Azure/AWS/GCP IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS capabilities.
  • Experience with any of the following: Azure Services Stack (preferred), AWS Services Stack, and GCP Services Stack.
  • Knowledge of cloud security controls including tenant isolation, encryption at rest, encryption in transit, key management, vulnerability assessments, application firewalls, SIEM, etc.
  • Experience with multi-tier system and service design and development for large enterprises.
  • Extensive, real-world experience designing technology components for enterprise solutions and defining solution architectures and reference architectures with a focus on cloud technologies.
  • Experience in developing highly scalable solutions to address application performance issues.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) authoring: Hands-on expertise with Terraform (or equivalent tools such as ARM/Bicep, Pulumi, or CloudFormation) to author, version, and modularize reusable provisioning scripts for compute, networking, storage, and identity resources across environments (Dev/QA/Stage/Prod), enabling repeatable, auditable, and drift-free infrastructure deployments.
  • Cloud-agnostic application deployment: Proven ability to design and deploy applications using cloud-agnostic patterns and abstractions — containerization, Kubernetes, Helm charts, and standardized CI/CD templates — so workloads can be ported or run consistently across Azure, AWS, and GCP with minimal re-engineering, reducing vendor lock-in risk.
  • AKS deployment and end-to-end CI/CD: Expertise deploying and operating containerized workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including cluster provisioning, namespace/RBAC design, and Helm-based application packaging; skilled in building complete CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins) covering build, automated testing, security scanning, image publishing to container registries, and progressive deployment strategies such as blue-green, canary, and rolling updates.
  • Security and data governance: Strong track record embedding security-by-design principles into every architecture decision — network segmentation, secrets management (Key Vault), identity and access management (RBAC/Managed Identity), encryption at rest and in transit, and automated policy-as-code enforcement (Azure Policy/OPA/Gatekeeper) — with a demonstrated goal of zero critical security findings and full data governance compliance across audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Cloud migration: Extensive experience planning and executing migrations across compute models — VM-to-VM (Azure VM, AWS EC2, GCP Compute Engine), App Service to equivalent PaaS offerings (AWS Elastic Beanstalk/App Runner, GCP App Engine/Cloud Run), and containerized workload migration across AKS, EKS, and GKE — including assessment, right-sizing, cutover planning, and rollback strategy to minimize downtime and business disruption.
  • Resource utilization optimization: Establishes and enforces standards to optimize resource utilization, including autoscaling policies (HPA/VPA/Cluster Autoscaler), rightsizing based on utilization telemetry, reserved instance/savings plan strategy, tagging and chargeback models, and periodic cost-governance reviews to continuously reduce cloud spend while maintaining performance SLAs.
  • Performance monitoring and best practices: Proactively monitors application and infrastructure health using tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus/Grafana, and Log Analytics; performs root-cause analysis on performance bottlenecks (latency, throughput, resource contention) and recommends best-practice remediations spanning code, infrastructure, and configuration to ensure optimal, reliable operations.
