Job summary

Magna Powertrain in India seeks an Engineer Shift System to deepen understanding of synchronizer and shifting systems, covering specification, manufacturing and assembly details.

You will design components in CAD, perform strength calculations, collaborate with plant and suppliers, and help ensure quality and robustness across projects.

Qualifications

• University degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, physics, or similar domain with a specialization in mechanical or electrical systems.
• 3-8 years of professional experience working in the relevant field.
• Catia, MS-Office, Excel, PPT and simulation tools used for strength calculations.

Responsibilities

• Design (3D, 2D, materials, ...)
• Integration - project meetings, change management, FMEA, requirements management, interface definition
• Drawings - create and update drawings for change management and new design
• Calculation & Simulation - calculations performed by component engineers
• Plant & Supplier - collaboration in terms of manufacturing process and deviations, quality and robustness

Job Introduction:

Deep and comprehensive understanding of the function of synchronizer and shifting system in terms of specification, manufacturing and assembly details. Example of a work items: deviation, quality, robustness.

Major Responsibilities:

• Design (3D, 2D, materials, ...)
• Integration - (project meetings, change management, FMEA, requirements management, interface definition
• Drawings - create and update drawings for change management and new design
• Calculation & Simulation - calculations performed by component engineers
• Plant &Supplier - collaboration in terms of manufacturing process and deviations, quality and robustness

Skills and competencies:

• Modify drawings according to instructions
• Derive drawings from existing designs in CAD.
• Create and implement design concepts in CAD
• Perform calculations related to strength, fatigue, robustness and tolerance analysis

Educational Qualifications:

University degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, physics, or similar domain with a specialization in mechanical or electrical systems.

Work experience:

3-8 years of professional experience working in the relevant field.

Tools knowledge:

• Catia
• MS-Office, Excel, PPT
• Simulation tool for strength calculation
