Job summary

Magna Powertrain in Bengaluru seeks a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Transmission Systems (Hybrids and eDrives) with a focus on Gearbox design and development for automotive applications. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of gearbox architecture and experience in eDrive and AWD/4WD systems.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Processes IATF 16949; PPAP / VDA2; APQP / VDA 4.3; Problem Solving Methods (ASPICE).
  • Knowledge base for ISO 15504 (SPICE); Functional Safety ISO 26262; FMEA; Requirements Engineering and Management; IP Risk identification.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Gearbox for automotive applications with focus on Hybrids and eDrives.
  • Knowledge of Gearbox Architecture for eDrive and AWD/4WD.
  • Understand sub modules: Parklock, Decoupler, eLSD, Shift Unit, Clutches, Oil Pumps, Sensors and Actuators.
  • Understand Lubrication/Cooling, NVH, Durability/Reliability, EMC, Thermal Management DVP, Test-Management and Measurement technology of Gearbox.
  • System-level understanding of eDrive and AWD/4WD; Driving dynamics; Efficiency calculations and functional simulation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Job title: Engineer Gearbox Architecture
  • Job Introduction: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer specializing in Transmission Systems (Hybrids and eDrives), with a focus on the design and development of Gearbox for automotive applications. The ideal applicant should have an extensive knowledge of Gearbox and its complete architecture.
  • Good knowledge on Gearbox Architecture of eDrive, AWD/4WD.
  • Understanding on Sub modules like Parklock, Decoupler, eLSD, Shift Unit, Clutches, Oil Pumps, Sensors and Actuators.
  • Understanding of Lubrication/Cooling, NVH, Durability/Reliability, EMC, Thermal Management DVP, Test-Management, Measurement technology of Gearbox.
  • System level understanding of eDrive, AWD/4WD.
  • Understanding on Driving Dynamics.
  • Know how to the efficiency calculation and functional simulation.
Skills and Competencies

Educational Qualifications
  • Well-founded technical education (university degree) in one of the following disciplines - Mechanical / electrical / automotive / control engineering or mechatronics.
Work Experience
  • 3-8 years of professional experience working in the relevant field.
Tools Knowledge
  • Requirement Engineering tool (iALM PTC-Windchill) Doors NG.
  • Matlab Simcenter Amesim (Optional).
