Job summary

Marquardt in Pune seeks a Project Manager to lead end-to-end execution of industrial equipment and automation projects from order receipt to customer acceptance. You will develop detailed plans, manage budgets and timelines, and coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, suppliers and commissioning teams to ensure timely project completion.

Qualifications

• Experience managing industrial equipment, automation, or machine-building projects from concept to commissioning.
• Knowledge of planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
• Experience with assembly lines, SPMS, EOLT, or automation projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, electrical systems, PLC/HMI automation, pneumatics, hydraulics and safety.
• Proficiency with MS Project or Primavera for scheduling.
• Experience with vendor development, supplier coordination, procurement and contracting.
• Proven leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and customer management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently within budgets.
• Willingness to travel to supplier sites and project locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of industrial equipment and automation projects from order receipt to final customer acceptance.
• Develop detailed project plans with timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, supplier and commissioning teams to ensure timely project execution.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans to achieve milestones.
• Manage supplier communication, project reviews, and status updates throughout the lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate installation, testing, commissioning, and CFT team acceptance activities.
• Manage suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of equipment and services.
• Review engineering changes, scope variations, and cost implications while maintaining profitability.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance execution efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including schedules, reports, risk registers, minutes, and handover documents.
• Mentor and guide project engineers and cross-functional teams to meet objectives.
• Ensure successful project closure, warranty support, and lessons learned documentation.

Preferred candidate profile

• Sound knowledge of project management methodologies, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
• Experience in handling assembly lines, special-purpose machines (SPMs), end-of-line testing (EOLT), or industrial automation projects.
• Good understanding of mechanical design, electrical systems, PLC/HMI automation, pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial safety.
• Expertise in project planning tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent.
• Experience in vendor development, supplier coordination, procurement, and contract management.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional team coordination skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver within budget and timelines.
• Willingness to travel to supplier places and project sites.
