Job summary

Bureau Veritas India Pvt Ltd (BVIL) in Kochi invites a Surveyor - Civil to perform QA/QC inspections and supervise civil projects in line with the QAP, approved procedures and standards. The role requires independent work with limited supervision on identified assets.

The successful candidate will conduct on-site inspections, train juniors, prepare progress and field reports, close gaps, and ensure adherence to codes and standards while coordinating with the Manager - B&I, Kerala & Coimbatore.

Qualifications

• Minimum BE/B.Tech (Civil) with 6–8 years or Diploma with 8–10 years relevant experience.
• Knowledge of QA/QC will be preferred.
• Good communication, writing and presentation skills required.

Responsibilities

• Third party inspection or QA/QC of civil projects on a continuous basis.
• On-site training for juniors.
• Preparing progress reports, field inspection reports, NCs, etc., per client requirements.
• Follow up on reports and close gaps mentioned in the reports.
• Adherence to codes and standards; inspection and supervision of construction activities as per client requirements.
• Review of QAP and Quality Manual.

Reports to (job): Manager - B&I, Kerala & Coimbatore

Purpose of Position

• The job incumbent is responsible for performing QAQC inspections, audits, supervision as per QAP, approved procedure, standards, etc., Carries out some tasks independently, with minimum supervision, and these may be on well identified or isolated assets.

Major Responsibilities

• Third Party Inspection or QA/QC of Civil Projects on a continuous basis
• Conducting on-site training for juniors,
• Preparing progress report, field inspection report, NCs, etc based on client’s requirement.
• Follow up the above reports and close the gaps mentioned in the reports
• Adherence to Codes and Standards (Knowledge of Codes and Standards),
• Inspection, supervision of construction activities as per client requirement
• Review of QAP & Quality Manual

Roles & Responsibilities for HSE

• Must comply the BV Cardinal Safety Rules in all situations.
• To comply company HSE requirements e.g. policies, Procedures, guidelines etc. and local legal requirements on HSE as applicable
• To take care of own health and safety as well as colleagues and others.
• Immediate reporting of any shortcomings on HSE i.e. any incident, unsafe work practices / conditions to his/her immediate Line Managers.
• Sharing opportunities for improvement on HSE aspects

Qualification and Experience

General:

• Graduate Engineer BE/ B.Tech (Civil) with min. 6 to 8 years or Diploma with 8-10 years of relevant experience.

Technical:

• Knowledge of QA/QC will be preferred.

Skills & Qualities:

• Good communication skills verbal, writing and presentation.
• Ability to comprehend technical issues quickly.
• Ability to work in a team
