Job summary

Job Description - Junior Engineer QA/QC (Civil)

Experience

• 1 - 3 years of relevant experience in QA/QC for building construction projects.
• Candidates with site-based QA/QC experience in structural works, masonry, RCC, and general civil construction will be preferred.

Qualification

• BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering
• Diploma in Civil Engineering may be considered for candidates with strong site-based QA/QC exposure.

Job Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures and quality standards for civil and structural works.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
• Inspect RCC works, including reinforcement, shuttering, concreting, and post-concrete activities.
• Check line, level, plumb, dimensions, and alignment of structural and civil elements.
• Verify reinforcement, cover, sleeves, openings, inserts, and embedded items prior to concrete pour.
• Inspect masonry, blockwork, and general civil works.
• Prepare and maintain Inspection Requests (IR), checklists, inspection reports, and quality records.
• Coordinate with consultants/client representatives for inspections, approvals, and quality-related issues.
• Review and implement approved Method Statements, ITPs, and Quality Control Plans.
• Monitor workmanship and identify quality deviations/non-conformities at an early stage.
• Raise and close NCRs, observations, and quality issues in coordination with the execution team.
• Conduct pre-inspections and final inspections before offering works to the consultant/client.
• Coordinate with site engineers and subcontractors for rectification and timely closure of quality issues.
• Ensure proper mock-ups/sample approvals before commencement of large-scale civil works.
• Monitor civil works for alignment, level, line, plumb, surface finish, and dimensional accuracy.
• Maintain records of material approvals, test reports, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
• Participate in quality review meetings and provide technical inputs to improve workmanship.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly QA/QC reports and maintain project quality records.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable IS codes, and approved quality standards.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of civil construction quality standards and inspection procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret structural, architectural, and civil drawings.
• Good knowledge of ITP, Method Statements, Checklists, IRs, and NCR procedures.
• Knowledge of relevant IS codes and project specifications.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Excel will be an advantage.
