Job summary

Technoshell Automations Pvt. Ltd. seeks an experienced candidate to plan and monitor machine manufacturing projects from order release through procurement, machining, fabrication, assembly, testing, and final dispatch.

The role includes outsourcing decisions, vendor development, and ensuring timely handover to stores per schedule. The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background with strong project planning, vendor coordination and Excel skills to manage multiple projects and ensure

Qualifications

  • Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in machine manufacturing, special-purpose machines, industrial machinery or engineering projects preferred.
  • Good practical knowledge of machining processes and engineering drawings.
  • Experience in machining outsourcing and vendor development will be highly preferred.
  • Good knowledge of project planning, scheduling and follow-up.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel and project planning tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed project plans, schedules and timelines for machine manufacturing projects.
  • Monitor project progress against planned targets and identify delays at an early stage.
  • Track critical-path activities and ensure timely completion of critical components.
  • Coordinate with Design, Purchase, Production, Quality, Assembly and other departments.
  • Prepare daily/weekly project status reports and MIS.
  • Develop recovery plans for delayed activities and follow up until closure.
  • Ensure projects are completed within committed delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with vendors for machining of components as per drawing, quality and delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate and monitor surface treatment processes after machining.

Job description

Candidate Profile

The candidate will be responsible for planning and monitoring machine manufacturing projects from order release through component procurement, machining, fabrication, assembly, testing, and final dispatch. The role will also involve identifying machining requirements for outsourcing, developing reliable machining vendors and ensuring components are completed and handed over to the Kitting Store group-wise as per the project schedule.

Roles & Responsibilties
1. Project Planning & Control
  • Prepare detailed project plans, schedules and timelines for machine manufacturing projects.
  • Monitor project progress against planned targets and identify delays at an early stage.
  • Track critical-path activities and ensure timely completion of critical components.
  • Coordinate with Design, Purchase, Production, Quality, Assembly and other departments.
  • Prepare daily/weekly project status reports and MIS.
  • Develop recovery plans for delayed activities and follow up until closure.
  • Ensure projects are completed within committed delivery schedules.
2. Machining & Outsourcing Planning
  • Understand machining processes such as turning, milling, VMC/HMC, CNC machining, grinding, drilling, boring, EDM,Wire cut etc.
  • Review drawings/BOMs and identify components or machining operations suitable for outsourcing.
  • Plan machining activities based on internal capacity, machine availability and project priorities.
  • Coordinate with vendors for machining of components as per drawing, quality and delivery requirements.
3.Surface Treatment Management:
  • Coordinate and monitor surface treatment processes after machining, such as plating, coating, painting, anodizing, blackening, heat treatment or other specified treatments as applicable.
  • Identify surface treatment requirements from drawings, BOMs and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with approved surface treatment vendors and ensure components are processed as per required specifications.
  • Plan surface treatment activities in line with the project schedule to avoid delays.
  • Ensure proper inspection and documentation of surface-treated components before receiving them into stores.
  • Follow up on quality issues, rejections and rework related to surface treatment.
4. Vendor Development
  • Identify and develop suitable machining vendors based on machine capability, capacity, quality and delivery performance.
  • Conduct technical evaluation of new vendors.
  • Negotiate and finalize machining requirements in coordination with theVendor.
  • Monitor vendor performance and take corrective actions for quality or delivery issues.
  • Develop alternate vendors for critical and high-risk components.
5. Project Coordination
  • Conduct regular project review meetings and follow up on action points.
  • Maintain project-wise component status and pending lists.
  • Highlight/Escalation potential risks related to machining, vendors, materials, capacity and delivery.
  • Coordinate priority changes according to project requirements.
6. Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain project schedules, BOM/component tracking, vendor status and delivery plans.
  • Prepare project progress reports and management dashboards.
  • Track planned vs. actual (Gantt Chart) completion of major activities.
  • Maintain records of delayed components, reasons and corrective actions.
  • Support management in project status reviews and decision-making.
