Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited in Chennai seeks an experienced Tractor PTO test engineer to drive testing, validation and certification activities for PTO systems, including cooling, instrumentation and data analysis. You will coordinate test facility planning, document test reports, support NABL/ISO compliance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust PTO performance and sign-off.

BE or DME/DAE with 5–9 years in automotive testing is preferred, strong communication and MS

Qualifications

• BE/B.E. or DME/DAE required with automotive exposure.
• Experience in PTO testing, validation, and certification processes.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, data acquisition and basic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead PTO testing activities: performance tests, functional tests and cooling system validation.
• Plan and schedule test facility operations in shifts.
• Monitor test facility utilization and efficiency; ensure accurate recording of results.
• Conduct homologation activities for PTO validation (ICT, OECD Code II & CMVR).
• Coordinate sign-off for DVP trials with tractor aggregates.
• Prepare PTO test reports and failure investigation documentation.
• Troubleshoot issues using instruments and INCA software during validation.
• Support NABL, ISO, QS systems and OHSAS certifications for the test facility.
• Assist PTO certification at test agencies and address field/production issues.
• Set up and validate electrical PTO performance.

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

• 1) Tractor PTO testing : PTO Performance tests, functional tests & Cooling system validation.
• 2) Test facility work Planning and Scheduling in shift operations.
• 3) Monitoring utilisation and effciency of the test facility

• 9) Support for PTO Certification at test agency, Field issues & production issues resolution.
• 10) Electrical Tractor PTO performance Set-up & validation

Experience

• BE - Minimum 5 to 6 years,
• DIPLOMA MECHANICAL/AUTOMOBILE ENGG - Minimum 9 years

General Requirements

• 1. Good communication skill
• 2. Knowledge of MS office (Words, EXEL), Power point
• Sound Knowledge of Tractor test set-up, instrumentation, utility know how ,PTO Cooling Performance validation, Tractor Aggregates Power loss analysis, Knowledge of Field duty cycle corelation with PTO Testing, Logical data interpretation skills.
• Proficient in handling below equipments
  1) Dynamometer, fuel flow meter, smoke meter
  2) Fuel conditioner, blow by meter & Air flow meter.
• - Hands on experience on Softwares like IASYS, Vibration measurement -LMS SCADAs
• 
  - Competant to investigate Engine, Tractor aggregates and Instrument related issues.
  - Strong Analytical skills for PTO performance analysis.
  - Knowledge of vehicle data acquisition & control systems
