Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited is seeking a Powertrain Mounts Design Engineer to develop mounting systems for small commercial vehicles. The role involves delivering designs per QCDW, generating multiple CAD concepts, and collaborating with CAE/NVH teams, plant, and homologation during the project lifecycle.

You will work on RLDA for mounts, engage in life calculations, and address field, manufacturing, service, and quality issues while driving the project from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics engineering; MS/MTech preferred.
• 4-7 years automotive experience with Powertrain mounts.
• Proficient in Powertrain mounting design and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design Powertrain mounting systems for small commercial vehicles.
• Deliver mounting systems per QCDW for projects.
• Generate multiple innovative CAD concepts for Powertrain mounts.
• Interact with CAE, NVH, validation, plant teams, homologation.
• Resolve field, manufacturing, service & quality issues related to PT mounts.
• Lead project execution from concept to production with lifecycle closure.
• Perform DFMEA, design reviews, DVP generation, RCA using QC tools.

Job description

1. Ability to design Powertrain Mounting system for Small Commercial Vehicles.
2. Deliver Powertrain mounting system as per QCDW (Quality, cost, delivery, weight) for projects
3. Good Hands on experience in CATIA V5, GD&T / Drafting of sheet metal & Casting components.
4. Ability to generate Multiple innovative Design concepts for Powertrain mounting system
5. Knowledge of Metallurgy, manufacturing Processes, Welding technology for Sheet Metal & casting components.
6. Interact with CAE, NVH, CDMM, validation, plant team, homologation for aggregate development
7. Ability to resolve the Field, manufacturing, service & quality issues related to PT Mounts.
8. DFMEA, Design review, DVP generation, RCA analysis using QC tools.
9. Ability to handle Field problems for existing vehicles in engine mounts.
10. Ability to analyse pros and cons of different designs considering performance, cost, packaging.
11. Ability to deliver the Project execution from concept to production stage. Handled at least one project with complete lifecycle.
12. Understanding of customer needs & generate innovative solutions.
13. Ability to communicate effectively, self driven, good team player.

Experience

4-7 Years experience in Automotive with SIL/MIL/HIL is preferable.

B.E / B. Tech Electrical and Electronics engineering; MS/MTech is added advantage

General Requirements

1. Knowledge of different types of PT Mounts & technologies.
2. Innovative thinking and Ability to generate Multiple CAD Design concept for PT mounts
3. Vehicle system level functioning/design of Commercial Vehicle Systems, Categories & Application
4. Good hands on RLDA for PT mounts, Block cycles, Rig level testing, life calculation for PT mounts.
5. Ability to handle Vehicle level NVH development, resolve critical NVH concerns in Low idle, dynamic conditions, Tip in/out, launch judder & Durability concerns.
6. Knowledge of Rubber manufacturing & technology.
7. Knowledge of 6 DOF, 16 DOF, TRA, Packaging envelopes for Powertrain.
8. Knowledge of bolted joints, joint integrity, DFA, DFM, DFS
