Job summary

Magna Powertrain Bengaluru seeks an experienced Engineer Mechatronics to drive electronics design and requirements engineering for electric vehicle traction inverter systems. You will lead design reviews, manage test specifications, and coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholder teams to ensure robust electrical interfaces and timely delivery.

You should have 3–8 years in electrical engineering or mechatronics, a degree in Electrical Engineering, and strong communication skills in

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with relevant specialization.
• Experience in electronic design or mechatronics projects preferred.
• Knowledge of PCB design review and BOM management is a plus.
• Strong communication skills in English; German is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize electronics design for traction inverter physics and electrical interfaces.
• Lead design reviews, test specs, 8D reports, FMEA with suppliers.
• Ensure parts availability and tracking of qualification activities.
• Coordinate with project management and Magna subsystems for timing and cost.
• Support change control processes and supplier OEM communications.
• Assist Electronics Project Leader with customer requirements and quality targets.

Dream big and create the future of mobility at Magna Powertrain.**Job Responsibilities:****Job title:**Engineer Mechatronics**Job Introduction:**As an experienced Electronics Design Engineer, you will be involved in the electronics design & development and requirements engineering of the traction inverter for electric vehicles.**Major Responsibilities:*** The component is developed on specification (SOR) by a supplier. The Component Engineer is the main counterpart for all technical component elements (e.g. E-Motor part or control unit part)* Development, review and optimization of the respective component design (e.g. EMotor or control unit), primarily regarding electrical and physical properties, but also mechanical properties, in coordination with the Magna specialist departments and the supplier* Execution and lead of design, design review, test specification, review test reports, and FMEA reviews with the supplier* Design of electrical interfaces including tolerance analyses* Regular communication with the supplier* Internal coordination and reporting with project management, department management and specialist departments* Ensuring parts availability for the respective components in line with project planning requirements (depending on prototype phases)* Creation and maintenance of the requirements specification (SOR), schedule, 8D reports, specifications, qualification plan and test reports•* Tracking of qualification activities including regular reporting* Review of result reports and derivation and tracking of actions* Clarification of feasibility, risks, timelines, qualification and costs* Internal initiation, tracking and driving of the Magna change process* Support of the Electronics Project Leader, taking into account customer requirements, timing, costs and quality* Independent tracking of series production changes (supplier and OEM), taking into account customer requirements, timing, costs and quality, including regular reporting to the OEM in coordination with the subsystem leader and E/E management* Good to have knowledge of PCB design reviews, component engineering for BOM management.* Experience in understanding hardware requirement engineering process.* Good to have experience in requirement engineering tools like DOORS/PTC.* Support selection of the single system components and their integration into overall inverter Hardware* Manages communication and alignment with all affected stakeholders.**Skills and competencies:*** Good knowledge of the design of electronic / electrical components* Experience in managing electronic projects* Basic knowledge of transmission technology / automated transmissions would be desirable* Very good written and spoken English and potential German language skills* Strong communication and teamwork skills, flexibility* Reliability, assertiveness, independence, resilience and organizational skills**Educational Qualifications:**Successfully completed degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification**Work experience:**3-8 years of professional experience in the field of electrical engineering, alternatively mechatronics## **Awareness, Unity, Empowerment:**At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
