Job summary

Magna Electronics in Bengaluru, India invites an Electrical Engineer (Design) to join its Automotive Systems team. You will contribute to hardware design for ADAS platforms, working across analog, digital and mixed-signal circuits.

You will collaborate on MCU/MPU based systems, FPGA enhancements, and ensure compliance with automotive standards. The role involves schematic capture, PCB reviews, and high-speed interfaces.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge in electrical hardware design for automotive applications following automotive standards.
  • Hands-on experience in analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design and testing (ADAS).
  • Experience with microcontrollers/microprocessors; FPGA knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Experience in preparing circuit analysis documents such as WCCA, DFMEA and VAVE.
  • Familiarity with EMC/EMI issue debugging and solutions.
  • Experience in analog circuit simulations.
  • Strong schematic entry and PCB layout review skills.
  • Proficient with high-speed interfaces: DDR3/4/5, CSI-II, Ethernet, PCIe (optional).
  • Proficient in I2C, SPI, USB, LIN, CAN/CAN-FD protocols.
  • Ability to test products for environmental and certification standards.
  • Lab equipment handling and basic soldering of SMD components.
  • ISO26262 HW part knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical hardware design for automotive applications per standards.
  • Hands-on analog, digital, mixed-signal circuit design and testing (ADAS).
  • Design MCU/MPU based systems; FPGA knowledge is a plus.
  • Prepare/derive circuit analysis documents (WCCA, DFMEA, VAVE).
  • Address EMC/EMI issues, debug, and provide solutions.
  • Perform analog circuit simulations and reviews.
  • Lead schematic entry and PCB layout reviews with layout engineers.
  • Work with high-speed interfaces like DDR3/4/5, CSI-II, Ethernet, PCIe.
  • Work with I2C, SPI, USB, LIN, CAN/CAN-FD protocols.
  • Carry out product testing for environmental and certification standards.
  • Operate common lab equipment and basic soldering of SMDs.
  • Exposure to ISO26262 HW standards is an added advantage.

Job Responsibilities
  • Electrical Engineer (Design)
  • Knowledge in electrical hardware design for automotive applications following automotive standards
  • Hands on experience in Analog, Digital, mixed signal circuit design, development, testing. Mainly into automotive digital circuit designing (in ADAS platform).
  • Good working knowledge on Microcontrollers and microprocessors-based system designing (Knowledge on FPGA’s is added advantage).
  • Good working experience in preparing/deriving circuit related analysis documents like WCCA, DFMEA and VAVE etc.
  • Experience in understanding EMC/EMI issues, debug and provide solutions.
  • Good working Knowledge in analog circuit simulations.
  • Very good at Schematic entry and PCB layout review and provide directions to layout engineer.
  • Should have good technical & working knowledge in highspeed interfaces – DDR3/4/5, CSI-II (FPD Link 3/4), Ethernet 100/1000T, PCI & PCI express (Optional, is an added advantage) etc.
  • Working knowledge in Communication protocols like I2C, SPI, USB, LIN and CAN/CAN-FD.
  • Should be able to carry out product testing for environmental and certification test standards.
  • Experienced in using common lab equipment’s like Precision DMM’s, High frequency DSO’s logic analysers and should have soldering knowledge on basic components like SMD resistors, capacitors etc.
  • Experience in Standard ISO26262 HW part would be added advantage.
