Job summary

Magna Powertrain in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Engineer CAE Durability to model and analyze transmission systems in 3D FEM using Altair HyperWorks.

You will preprocess geometry in HyperMesh/SimLab, define boundary conditions, postprocess results, and prepare reports with design recommendations to optimize powertrain durability. The role requires 3–10 years of CAE experience, knowledge of CATIA V5, SimLab, HyperMesh, Abaqus and FEMFAT, and strong communication across geographies.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of professional CAE simulations experience, preferably in automotive transmission systems.
• Advanced knowledge of finite element methods and modeling.
• Basic knowledge of CATIA V5 software.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing powertrain components for loads, stresses, and lifetime.
• Calculating housings and other transmission components for hybrid and electric powertrain designs using simulation tools.
• Preprocessing of geometry in HyperMesh/SimLab.
• Defining boundary conditions, postprocessing and interpretation of results.
• Creating reports per Magna Powertrain specifications with design optimization proposals.
• Writing technical documents and presenting results efficiently.
