Job summary

CIRCOR International, Inc. in Coimbatore, India is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to ensure reliable operation of plant machinery, utilities, and electrical systems. You will lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires strong knowledge of mechanical/electrical maintenance, PM/PdM, TPM, and the ability to coordinate with production and contractors to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• > Diploma or Bachelors in Engineering – Mechanical/ Electrical.
• > 6–8 years of experience in facility and plant machinery maintenance.
• > Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance practices.
• > Experience with heavy machinery maintenance (mechanical and electrical).
• > Exposure to PM/PdM and lean tools (Lean Six Sigma) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, statutory requirements, and company maintenance standards.
• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for plant equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control-system issues.
• Attend equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime through root-cause analysis.
• Conduct RCA for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Maintain maintenance schedules, checklists, equipment history, and breakdown records.
• Maintain inventory of critical spare parts, tools, and consumables; keep records.
• Lead 5S, Kaizen, TPM and continuous improvement activities.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and servicing.
• Support installation, commissioning, modification, and upgrading of machinery.
• Maintain maintenance budget and secure estimates and cost quotes.
• Lead a team of associates and delegate work areas.
• Synchronize work processes with other departments and promote Lean manufacturing practices.
• Establish and maintain effective communication via toolbox meetings and roundtables.

POSITION DETAILS

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of plant machinery, equipment, utilities, and electrical/mechanical systems. The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, improving equipment reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Principal Activities

• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, statutory requirements, and company maintenance standards.
• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for plant equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control-system issues.

• Participate in 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and continuous improvement activities.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance and equipment servicing.
• Support installation, commissioning, modification, and upgrading of machinery and equipment
• Maintain maintenance budget and secures estimates and cost quotes as needed.
• Lead a team of associates and delegating work areas to them.
• Synchronizing work processes with other departments of the establishment.
• Effective and efficient use of Lean Manufacturing and associated tools in all areas of the organization.
• Establish and maintain effective communication such as toolbox meetings, employee meetings, roundtables discussions.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), TPM, RCA, and breakdown maintenance.
• PLC and automation troubleshooting knowledge.
• Knowledge of VFDs, sensors, motors, control panels, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or relevant engineering software.
• Knowledge of industrial safety practices and electrical/mechanical safety procedures.
• Experience with maintenance KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, equipment availability, and downtime.
• Ability to work independently as well as coordinate with production and other support teams.
• Have Knowledge in QMS, EMS, & EHS audits standards.

Education

• Diploma or Bachelors in Engineering – Mechanical/ Electrical
• 6 to 8 years of experience in the field of facility and plant machinery maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance practices
• Experience should include heavy machinery maintenance on mechanical and electrical side.
• Exposure to Preventive/ predictive maintenance practices, lean tools (Lean Six Sigma) Preferred
