Detailed Job Description:

As an Engineer III – Software Development supporting FT Protech in Hyderabad, India, you will take full operational, architectural, and tactical ownership of Linux kernel development, device driver implementation, and hardware platform verification. Your day-to-day responsibilities include designing, developing, and debugging complex kernel-space C code, writing and optimizing Ethernet (ETH) kernel drivers, and conducting rigorous on-board debugging across diverse embedded silicon platforms. You will work extensively with open-source kernel development workflows, upstreaming patches, and low-level operating system synchronization primitives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, develop, test, and maintain robust Linux kernel modules and low-level device drivers in C.
• Implement, optimize, and troubleshoot high-performance Ethernet (ETH) kernel drivers for networking hardware.
• Configure operating system memory management, process scheduling, synchronization primitives, and interrupt handlers.
• Execute rigorous hardware platform verification, board bring-up, and advanced on-board system debugging.
• Contribute actively to open-source kernel development initiatives, code reviews, and upstream patch submissions.
• Analyze system performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and concurrency faults utilizing kernel debugging suites.
• Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional hardware design, firmware engineering, and QA verification squads.
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive technical documentation of kernel architectures, driver APIs, and debugging runbooks.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive professional experience in software development with a core focus on Linux systems.
• Strong, demonstrable hands‑on professional expertise in C programming, Embedded C, and low‑level memory manipulation.
• Comprehensive working knowledge and practical proficiency in Linux Kernel Internals and operating system fundamentals.
