Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in electromechanical Products and support the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of electromechanical products, switchgear assemblies, and related subsystems.

The incumbent will be responsible for product development activities, including engineering design, 3D modeling, drawing creation, product validation, and technical documentation, while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electromechanical products, switchgear assemblies, and related subsystems.
  • Develop innovative design solutions and implement new product features based on customer requirements.
  • Creation of complete required assembly documentation including component details, assembly drawings, 3D Models and design documentation.
  • Understands and functions within all phases of product development and sustaining engineering including
  • Order processing utilizing Switch business systems.
  • Product structure, (Bills of Material), utilizing engineering/manufacturing business systems.
  • Engineering Standards & Practices
  • Development, maintenance and thorough understanding of Product Design Specifications for assigned products.
  • Verification and Validate designs to ensure compliance with product requirements.
  • Apply GD&T principles and engineering best practices during product development.
  • Identify technical risks, communicate them proactively, and implement mitigation plans.
  • Provide timely project status updates and collaborate with stakeholders to meet project objectives.
  • Participate in internal and customer design reviews.
  • Drive Lean Engineering practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute innovative concepts and ideas for system and subsystem enhancement.
  • Work effectively with global engineering teams, manufacturing, sourcing, quality and product management functions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve engineering deliverables and customer value.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills in a multicultural and virtual work environment.
  • Provide technical assistance to the manufacturing team for assembly operations managed by General Engineering
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 4–6 years of experience in electromechanical product design and development.
  • Experience in Creo/PDM, Auto CAD
  • Experience in low-voltage power distribution products and switchgear systems preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Experience with low-voltage distribution products and systems, preferably:
    • Switch Gear Design
    • Busbar Systems
    • Enclosure Design
    • Control Panel Assembly
  • Expertise in PTC Creo combined with Product Data Management
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and documentation control.
  • Understanding of electrical circuits and electromechanical system integration.
  • Knowledge of UL Standards
Engineering Tools
  • Proficient in:
    • Creo (3D Modeling)
    • AutoCAD
    • Windchill / PDM Systems
Professional Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in global teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-driven, result-oriented, and capable of reporting progress and metrics regularly.
