You will manage manpower, oversee major rework, electrical repairs and ECU diagnostics while promoting 5S and Kaizen on the shop floor. The role emphasizes optimizing resources, ensuring SPR targets, and maintaining safety and compliance with IATF standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in End of Line operations and vehicle clearance
• Experience with electrical repairs and ECU diagnostics at EOL
• Knowledge of major rework activities in vehicle assembly
• Experience handling permanent and temporary employees
• Familiarity with IATF and shop floor quality systems
• Knowledge of 5S and Kaizen methodologies

Responsibilities

We are looking for a hands-on and driven Engineer – Vehicle Assembly & EOL to ensure quality and delivery of vehicles at End of Line operations at our Oragadam plant. The role involves handling manpower for smooth vehicle delivery, managing major rework activities, electrical repairs, ECU diagnostics, and driving continuous improvement through 5S and Kaizen initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Production & EOL Operations

• Achieve daily production targets at End of Line
• Achieve vehicle clearance with targeted Straight Pass Ratio (SPR)
• Handle major rework activities, electrical repairs, and ECU diagnostics at EOL
• Ensure smooth vehicle delivery with minimal dwell time and backlog
• Handle permanent and temporary employees and Union representatives
• Train and guide associates on EOL processes
• Optimize utilization of men and equipment for maximum efficiency
• Maintain production tools and equipment as per schedule
• Ensure 5S standards and discipline on shop floor at all times

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Comprehend quality issues and implement effective countermeasures
• Upkeep Quality Management Systems — IATF
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects
• Implement new techniques and technologies to improve productivity
• Drive Kaizen initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and safety

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices in all activities

Systems & Reporting

• Work with Manufacturing Execution Systems — SAP or MES
• Monitor plan vs actual and take corrective actions
• Prepare daily production reports and escalated issues to management

Knowledge & Skills Required
