Job summary

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. in Oragadam is looking for a hands-on Manager to oversee HDT chassis and vehicle assembly production operations. You will drive targets, manage manpower, ensure quality, and lead continuous improvement on the shop floor.

You will ensure adherence to 5S, IATF/OHSAS standards, and utilize SAP/MES for planning, scheduling, and reporting while mentoring the operations team to maximize efficiency and first-time-through rates.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in HDT chassis and vehicle assembly.
• Familiarity with IATF, OHSAS, 5S and Lean Manufacturing.
• Experience with scheduling and sequencing for assembly operations.
• Exposure to SAP or MES on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HDT chassis and vehicle assembly production process end to end.
• Achieve daily and monthly production targets on chassis and assembly line.
• Ensure vehicles meet high quality and efficiency standards.
• Responsible for vehicle roll out with targeted First Time Through (FTT).
• Adhere to and sustain high standard process and product quality.
• Plan and manage manpower for chassis and vehicle assembly operations.
• Train and guide associates on the shop floor.
• Optimize utilization of manpower and equipment for maximum efficiency.
• Maintain production tools and equipment as per schedule.

We are looking for a hands‑on and driven Manager to oversee HDT chassis and vehicle assembly production operations at our Oragadam plant. The role is responsible for achieving production targets, managing manpower, ensuring quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives on the chassis and vehicle assembly shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Quality

• Oversee HDT chassis and vehicle assembly production process end to end
• Achieve daily and monthly production targets on chassis and assembly line
• Ensure vehicles meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency
• Responsible for vehicle roll out with targeted FTT (First Time Through)
• Adhere to and sustain high standard process and product quality
• Upkeep Quality Management Systems — IATF, OHSAS, EMS
• Ensure 5S standards and discipline on shop floor at all times
• Plan and manage manpower for chassis and vehicle assembly operations
• Train and guide associates on the shop floor
• Optimize utilization of men and equipment for maximum efficiency
• Maintain production tools and equipment as per schedule

Productivity & Continuous Improvement

• Implement innovative techniques to improve productivity
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks on chassis and assembly line
• Drive continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives
• Implement new processes and techniques for efficiency enhancement

Scheduling & Systems

• Apply knowledge of scheduling and sequencing for chassis and vehicle assembly operations
• Work with Manufacturing Execution Systems — SAP or MES
• Monitor plan vs actual and take corrective actions
• Prepare daily production reports and elevate issues to management

Knowledge & Skills Required

• Hands‑on experience in HDT chassis assembly and vehicle assembly processes
• Knowledge of chassis components, sub‑assembly process, and equipment
• Troubleshooting experience in chassis and vehicle assembly process
• Familiarity with IATF, OHSAS, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing
• Knowledge of scheduling and sequencing for assembly operations
• Exposure to SAP or MES systems on shop floor
• Strong problem‑solving ability on shop floor
• Ability to manage and motivate workforce
• M.Tech/ME/MBA will be an added advantage.
