Job summary

CAL-ON INDUSTRIES in Hyderabad ( Telangana ) seeks an experienced Production Manager to lead end-to-end EV manufacturing operations. You will drive production planning, shop-floor control, manpower management and material coordination to meet targets while ensuring quality, safety and cost control.

You will oversee KPI tracking (OEE, yield, throughput), implement lean improvements and coordinate with Engineering and Quality teams for process enhancements in a fast-paced EV environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end manufacturing operations in EV/vehicle production.
• Strong production planning, scheduling and shop-floor control skills.
• Competence in managing manpower, shift planning and supervisor lead-ership.
• Good understanding of MRP/ERP systems and material flow.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement.
• Ability to track KPIs like OEE, yield and productivity.
• Experience with SOPs, safety and quality standards.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MIS reporting.

Responsibilities

• Create daily, weekly and monthly production plans and monitor execution.
• Manage day-to-day shop-floor operations, ensuring efficient use of manpower and machines.
• Coordinate with PPC, Stores and Procurement to ensure timely materials.
• Monitor cycle times, downtime, output and productivity; drive improvements.
• Lead supervisors and operators, plan training and track performance.
• Uphold 5S, SOPs and quality standards; drive Kaizen and lean initiatives.
• Oversee equipment maintenance planning and capacity utilization.
• Prepare and present production reports and KPIs to management.

Job Description Production Manager

Reporting to: EV Head

Job Summary

Responsible to manage end-to-end manufacturing operations in an EV manufacturing environment. The role will be responsible for production planning, manpower and machine utilization, material availability, shop-floor operations, quality, productivity, cost control, safety, and timely achievement of production targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Control

• Prepare and execute daily, weekly and monthly production plans.
• Develop and monitor the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer requirements.
• Monitor Plan vs. Actual Production and take corrective actions.
• Ensure production targets and dispatch commitments are achieved.
• Identify production bottlenecks and improve overall capacity utilization.

2. Shop-Floor Management

• Manage day-to-day production and assembly operations.
• Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machines, materials and tools.
• Monitor production cycle time, downtime, output and productivity.
• Maintain proper shop-floor discipline, 5S and standard operating procedures.
• Reduce waste, rejection, scrap and rework.

3. Manpower Management

• Plan manpower requirements according to production targets.
• Allocate manpower and manage shift schedules.
• Lead, supervise and motivate supervisors, technicians and operators.
• Identify training requirements and improve employee skill levels.
• Monitor team performance and productivity.

4. Material & Inventory Coordination

• Coordinate with PPC, Stores, Procurement and Supply Chain to ensure timely availability of materials.
• Monitor raw-material consumption and prevent production stoppages due to shortages.
• Control excess and obsolete inventory.
• Conduct regular material-review meetings and resolve material-related issues.

5. Quality & Process Improvement

• Work closely with the Quality team to maintain product and process standards.
• Identify root causes of production and quality problems and implement corrective actions.
• Drive Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Improve yield, productivity and first-pass quality.

6. EV Manufacturing Operations

• Monitor EV assembly and manufacturing processes as applicable to the company's product line.
• Ensure adherence to approved SOPs, work instructions and process standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Quality teams for process improvements and new-product introduction.
• Ensure proper handling of EV components, assemblies, machines and production equipment.

7. Machine & Equipment Management

• Monitor machine capacity, utilization and downtime.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Ensure machines, tools and equipment are properly maintained and available for production.

8. MIS & Reporting

• Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
• Track KPIs such as OEE, productivity, yield, rejection, downtime, cycle time and on-time delivery.
• Present production performance and major issues to senior management.
• Maintain accurate production, inventory and work-order records.
