Job summary

Indiana Group in Mumbai is seeking an experienced Engineer Design (Structural) to undertake structural design and engineering activities for conveyor systems and bulk material handling equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with IS codes.

The ideal candidate will lead design development, prepare GA drawings, perform STAAD.Pro analysis, review calculations and drawings, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are met on time and within quality

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in structural design and analysis, preferably in structural steel fabrication, conveyor systems, or bulk material handling projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop structural components for conveyor systems and bulk material handling equipment, including structural calculations, design concepts, load calculations, and member sizing.
• Prepare and review GA drawings, structural fabrication drawings, connection details, and erection drawings.
• Perform structural analysis and design using STAAD.Pro or Tekla Structural Designer, applying IS codes and project requirements.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of structural calculations, drawings, design reports, and documentation per standards and quality requirements.
• Review site-related technical issues, resolve design discrepancies, and support structural modifications during project execution.

Job Purpose

To undertake structural design and engineering activities for conveyor systems and bulk material handling equipment, ensuring structural integrity, safety, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance with applicable engineering standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop structural components for conveyor systems and bulk material handling equipment, including structural calculations, design concepts, load calculations, and member sizing. Coordinate with mechanical design, project engineering, production, fabrication, procurement, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility and smooth project execution.
• Prepare and review General Arrangement (GA) drawings, structural fabrication drawings, connection details, and erection drawings.
• Perform structural analysis and design using software such as STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structural Designer, or equivalent tools, applying relevant Indian Standards (IS codes) and project-specific requirements.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of structural calculations, drawings, design reports, and engineering documentation in accordance with applicable standards and quality requirements.
• Review site-related technical issues, resolve design discrepancies, recommend appropriate engineering solutions, and support structural modifications arising during project execution.

Required Skills and Experience

• Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech. in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience in structural design and analysis, preferably in structural steel fabrication, conveyor systems, or bulk material handling projects.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of structural steel design, analysis, and detailing.
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro and familiarity with other structural analysis and design software.
• Ability to read and interpret structural fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and connection details.
• Knowledge of applicable Indian Standards (IS codes) and structural design requirements.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications, equipment layouts, loading conditions, and project requirements.
