Job summary

Eaton in India is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to create CAD drawings for plastic, machined, and sheet metal parts using SolidWorks and Creo. You will develop 3D models, assemblies and BOMs while coordinating with cross-functional teams under SAP PLM/PDM guidelines.

You will also build photorealistic renderings with KeyShot, and implement Python and VBA automation to improve CAD, rendering and data workflows, ensuring ISO/ASME compliance and supporting eco-system projects.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience with SolidWorks/Creo
• Experience with SAP and Oracle ERP systems
• Strong English communication and cross-functional collaboration

Responsibilities

• Create engineering designs and detailed drawings of plastic, machining, and sheet metal components in CAD
• Produce photorealistic renderings and animations using KeyShot for product visuals
• Develop Python-based automation to streamline CAD, rendering, and data workflows
• Coordinate with NPD, Production, suppliers, and customers per SAP PLM/PDM processes
• Create and maintain assembly drawings and BOMs for manufacturing
• Perform 3D scanning and reverse engineering to support product development
• Generate 360° spin images and web-ready visuals for product showcases
• Ensure compliance with ISO/ASME standards and drive continuous improvement
• Liaise with process improvement engineers to reference information in drawings
• Support localization, VAVE projects, and sales targets with technical input

What you’ll do:

• Primarily responsible for creating engineering design and detailed drawings of Plastic components, machining, and sheet metal components in CAD Software like Solid works, Creo and AutoCAD by coordinating with NPD, Production, supplier and customer specific requirements.
• Create high-quality photorealistic product renderings, animations, and marketing visuals using KeyShot to support product development, customer presentations, catalogs, and digital marketing initiatives.
• Design and implement Python-based automation solutions to streamline engineering, rendering, data management, and CAD-related processes, improving productivity and reducing manual effort.
• Work and coordinate with cross-functional teams while adhering to SAP PLM/PDM systems and processes, implementing directives that drive continuous improvement.
• Responsible for creating engineering design drawings into Solidworks of general assembly drawings, including all parts and sub assemblies from various sources, standard work practises to support manufacturing.
• Develop and implement automation solutions using Python and VBA to streamline engineering, CAD, rendering, and data management processes, reducing manual effort and improving operational efficiency.
• Updating drawings with specific need including Design Spec, All standards and appearance parameters with live product design from multiplatform
• Analyze existing product designs and functionalities, utilizing 3D scanning and reverse engineering techniques to recreate, enhance, and support product development initiatives.
• Identify and solve complex technical problems through innovative approaches.
• Create high-quality Left, Right & Front Images for product presentation on Eaton.com, e-commerce platforms, digital catalogs, and marketing materials.
• Generate 360° Spin Images and Interactive Product Visualizations using KeyShot to provide an enhanced customer viewing experience for web-based product showcases.
• Create and maintain product labels, nameplates, rating labels, packaging artwork, warning labels, and branding assets using CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator in accordance with Eaton standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare vector graphics, icons, logos, and product illustrations for labels, catalogs, datasheets, and digital marketing materials.
• Liaises with the Process Improvement Engineers and Business Units to ensure that appropriate levels of information are referenced through the manufacturing drawing. Consideration will also include the impact on / from standard shop practice, work instructions and tooling.
• Involves in localization and customization & VAVE projects to support customer orders and helps to achieve sales targets and goals.
• Adhere to international standards ISO and ASME and Manage Engineering change requests (ECO / ECN) and generate Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Participate in ZISC and CI culture of EATON and achieve SIOs and Kaizens.

Qualifications:

BE/B.Tech /Mechanical Graduate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
1 - 3 years (5+ for Diploma) - Proven and solidworks & Creo experience working in the following ERP system : both SAP and Oracle
