Job summary

Intelli Search Services in Bengaluru invites a Cost Estimator Engineer to join our manufacturing costing team. You will analyze technical requirements, collect data on raw materials, labor and tooling, and develop cost estimates for entire orders to support proposals.

1–3 years of relevant experience and a mechanical/industrial/production engineering background are required, along with proficiency in cost estimation software and strong analytical and communication skills.

Role & responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

• Estimate costs for manufacturing orders based on in-depth analyses of technical requirements.
• Collect and analyze all manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment, and tooling to ensure estimates are accurate.
• Identify and quantify potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs.
• Update costs as necessary based on latest information and project scope changes.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and other project stakeholders.

Preferred candidate profile

Requirements:

• A bachelors degree in engineering (mechanical/ industrial/ production/ any related branch).
• 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

Key Duties:

• Determine the scope of the order and review preliminary data and deliverables such as proposal specifications and drawings.
• Attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
• Utilize subcontractor or vendor cost and proposal data to support estimates.
• Evaluate and incorporate historical data from past orders into unit and man-hour figures.
• Develop cost estimates for an entire order and assist with contract handoff to Project Managers/Operations.
