Job summary

Meril Life Sciences is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Maintenance to join our factory team in Gujarat. The role focuses on industrial automation, PLC programming, sensor integration, and maintenance of electrical control panels in manufacturing environments.

You will configure PLCs, work with multiple PLC platforms, develop logic, troubleshoot faults, and support upgrades to improve machine reliability and uptime.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in Electrical or Electronics Engineering required.
• 2–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance and industrial automation.
• Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong knowledge of sensors, electrical control systems, and electrical safety.

Responsibilities

• Configure and troubleshoot PLCs in machinery.
• Work with PLC platforms (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Delta, Omron or equivalent).
• Develop and modify PLC logic, interlocks, timers, counters, sequencing.
• Troubleshoot PLC I/O, comms errors and faults in machine control.
• Work with HMIs for operation, monitoring and fault diagnosis.
• Support automation upgrades and process improvement projects.
• Install, commission, and maintain electrical controls in manufacturing equipment.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer with practical experiencein industrial automation, PLC programming, sensors, electrical control panels,and machine troubleshooting. The candidate will be responsible forinstallation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical andautomation systems used in manufacturing machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, and troubleshoot PLCs used inmachinery.
• Work with PLC platforms such as Siemens,Mitsubishi, Delta, Omron, or equivalent.
• Develop and modify PLC logic, interlocks,timers, counters, and sequencing operations.
• Troubleshoot PLC inputs/outputs, communicationerrors, and machine control faults.
• Work with HMI systems for machine operation,monitoring, and fault diagnosis.
• Support automation upgrades and processimprovement projects.

2. Sensors & Instrumentation

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot industrialsensors, including:
  • Proximity sensors (inductive and capacitive)
  • Photoelectric sensors
  • Limit switches and position sensors
  • Pressure, temperature, and level sensors
  • Encoders and other feedback devices
• Understand sensor wiring, signal types, and PLCinput/output interfacing.
• Calibrate and test sensors to ensure reliablemachine operation.

3. Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and automationfaults in production machines.
• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Troubleshoot motors, drives, control circuits,sensors, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Minimize machine downtime and ensure maximumequipment availability.
• Maintain maintenance logs and records ofbreakdowns and corrective actions.

Reporting To: Maintenance Manager / Plant Head

Requirements

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience in PLC programming andtroubleshooting.
• Good knowledge of industrial sensors andelectrical control systems.
• Experience with electrical panels, wiringdiagrams, relays, contactors, and motor controls.
• Working knowledge of VFDs, servo drives, and HMIsystems.
• Ability to diagnose electrical faults andresolve machine breakdowns.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical safety andpreventive maintenance.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in manufacturing industries andautomated production machinery.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic controlsystems.
• Experience in machine installation,commissioning, and automation retrofitting.
• Knowledge of safety relays, emergency-stopcircuits, and machine interlocks.
