Job summary

Fives Intralogistics in Kolkata seeks an experienced Industrial Automation Engineer to design and implement PLC-based controls for material handling systems. You will oversee end-to-end commissioning, configure drives, and provide robust remote and on-site support.

The role requires hands-on work with Siemens S7 and Rockwell platforms, expertise in HMI/SCADA (WinCC), Profibus, and documentation for project turnover. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Education and certifications as listed above: B.Tech/ Diploma in relevant engineering and Master Certification in Automation & Process Control.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in hands-on industrial automation with PLC and SCADA development.
• Certifications: Master Certification in Automation & Process Control.

Responsibilities

• PLC Programming & Logic Development: Design, write, and modify automation logic using Ladder Logic, SCL, STL, and FBD.
• System Commissioning & Integration: End-to-end commissioning of PLC, HMI, and SCADA for industrial machinery and processes.
• VFD & Drive Configuration: Configure, test, and commission Siemens G120, M750, NE300/200 drives and related systems.
• Remote Support & Troubleshooting: Provide remote or on-site diagnostics and software modifications for active installations.
• Documentation & Collaboration: Maintain project records and coordinate with cross-functional teams for handover.

Key Responsibilities

• PLC Programming & Logic Development: Design, write, and modify automation logic using Ladder Logic, SCL (for mathematical calculations), STL, and FBD.
• System Commissioning & Integration: Execute end-to-end commissioning of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for industrial machinery, material handling equipment, and process plants.
• VFD & Drive Configuration: Configure, test, and commission Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and specialized industrial braking systems.
• Remote Support & Troubleshooting: Provide remote or on-site troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, and software modifications for active industrial installations.
• Documentation & Collaboration: Maintain project records, ensure seamless communication protocols (such as Profibus), and coordinate with cross-functional teams for successful project handover.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering, or Diploma in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (or related field).
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on industrial automation experience involving PLC and SCADA development.
• Certifications: Specialized training or Master Certification in Automation & Process Control.

Technical Competencies & Software Skills

• PLC Hardware & Software: Siemens S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-300, S7-200 Smart, and Rockwell L75. Proficiency in TIA Portal (V13 to V20), STEP 7, and MicroWIN Smart.
• HMI / SCADA: Siemens WinCC (Professional & Explorer), KTP Series HMIs (KTP400, KTP700, KTP1200).
• Drives & Communication: Experience with various VFDs (Siemens G120, M750, NE300/200, Mentor MP) and Profibus communication protocols.
