Job summary

Lumax Auto Technologies Limited is seeking a Junior Engineer (Production & Quality) for the Pune (Akurdi & Chakan) area. The role focuses on delivering daily production targets while upholding quality, safety and delivery commitments.

The incumbent will monitor fabrication, welding and assembly processes, ensure inspections at all stages, and drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams to sustain process capability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical engineering.
• Experience 2–5 years in production and quality roles.
• Willing to work in rotating shifts (including night shifts).

Responsibilities

• Achieve daily production targets per plan with quality, delivery and safety.
• Monitor fabrication, welding and assembly processes per SOP and process parameters.
• Ensure first-piece, in-process and final inspection and act on abnormalities.
• Monitor rejection, rework, defects, downtime, cycle time and productivity; initiate corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, PPC, Stores and other departments to resolve issues.
• Maintain production and quality records, shift reports, inspection reports and MIS.

Production Working Pattern Rotational Shift 1st / 2nd / 3rd Shift

Reporting To: Production / Quality Manager

Job Location: Pune (Akurdi & Chakan)

Key Responsibilities : Production & Quality

1. Achieve daily production targets as per production plan while ensuring compliance with quality, delivery and safety requirements.
2. Monitor fabrication, welding and assembly processes and ensure adherence to SOP, Work Instructions, Process Parameters and Control Plan.
3. Ensure first-piece, in-process and final inspection as applicable and take immediate action on process abnormalities.
4. Monitor and control rejection, rework, defects, downtime, cycle time and productivity and initiate corrective actions.
5. Ensure proper man, machine, material and method availability for smooth production and quality performance.
6. Identify process and product abnormalities, conduct basic Root Cause Analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto and 7 QC Tools, and implement corrective actions.
7. Ensure proper segregation and control of OK, Rejected, Rework and Hold material with proper traceability.
8. Coordinate with Maintenance, PPC, Stores and other departments for resolving production, quality and machine-related issues.
9. Maintain required production and quality records, shift reports, inspection reports, rejection data and MIS.
10. Support customer complaint containment, CAPA, process audits, LPA and IATF-related activities.
11. Implement and monitor 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, TPM and productivity improvement activities on the shop floor.
12. Ensure availability and proper use of gauges, measuring instruments and inspection equipment and report any calibration-related issues.
13. Monitor critical quality parameters and ensure compliance with PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow and Standard Operating Procedures.
14. Conduct effective shift handover, communicating production status, quality issues, breakdowns, pending actions and abnormalities to the next shift.
15. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, production and company discipline requirements throughout the assigned shift.

Shift Working

• Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts.
• Responsible for complete monitoring of assigned production and quality activities during the shift.
• Ensure proper shift start-up, production monitoring and shift handover.
• Escalate critical quality, production, safety and machine issues to the concerned supervisor/manager.
