Job summary

Cashbuild at Dawnpark is seeking an End Controller to ensure all transactions are properly documented when stock leaves the store or when customers return stock. The role requires basic education and strong numeric skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities include recording customer returns, maintaining documentation accuracy, and ensuring doors and security are managed during shifts. Shift, weekend and holiday work is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 with 1 year of related work experience, or 2 years of related experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language.
• Must be literate.
• Must have strong numeric skills.
• Proven attention to detail.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Ensure no goods leave Cashbuild stores without the relevant documentation.
• Record customer returns in the End Controller book with proper authorisation.
• Ensure correct date, time, sequence and signature on documents.
• Record back-up coverage for area during shift changes, lunch and breaks.
• Ensure exit/entry doors are closed when not in use and keys are managed.
• Report suspicious behaviour to management.
• Close loading/off-loading shutters when not in use.
• Provide fast, friendly service to customers checking in/out.
• Direct customers to the appropriate staff for assistance.

Description:

Ensure relevant documentation for all transactions is checked and recorded when stock and / or fixed assets leave the Store or when Customers return stock.

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 and 1 (one) year work related experience or 2 (two) years’ work related experience
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available
• Must be literate
• Must have strong numeric skills
• Proven attention to detail
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Must be willing to work shifts, weekends and Public Holidays

Key Performance Area:

• Ensure no goods leave Cashbuild stores without the relevant documentation
• Completed correct and full
• Correct date, time, sequence, and signature on document has been captured
• Ensure all Customer returns are correctly recorded in the End Controller book and authorised
• Ensure back up employee available for area of responsibility with shift changes, lunch, and tea breaks
• Sign the End Control keys IN / OUT daily
• All exit / entry doors must be closed if not in use
• To ensure that loading and off-loading shutter doors are closed at all times where not in use
• Report all suspicious behaviour and vehicles which could pose a risk to Cashbuild and its Customers to Management
• Conduct random searches on Employees when they leave the Store

Customer Service

• Offer fast, friendly and efficient service to all Cashbuild Customers when checking in and out Customers goods
• Direct Customers to relevant person who can assist him / her.
