Job summary

House of Diagnostics in Gurugram seeks an Emergency Medical Officer (ACLS Certified) to provide immediate medical assessment and emergency care at the diagnostic centre, including pre-, intra-, and post-procedure emergencies. You will stabilize patients and coordinate with emergency/critical care services.

The role requires MBBS with State Medical Council registration and ACLS certification, prior emergency medicine experience, BLS/ACLS proficiency, strong communication, documentation, and staff

Qualifications

  • MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
  • Valid registration with the State Medical Council.
  • Valid ACLS certification from a recognized training provider.
  • Prior experience in emergency medicine, ICU, casualty, hospital emergency services, or diagnostic-centre emergency management will be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate medical assessment and emergency management of patients presenting with acute medical conditions or emergencies.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the diagnostic centre.
  • Perform Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) interventions as clinically indicated.
  • Monitor vital signs, ECG, oxygen saturation, blood pressure, and other relevant clinical parameters.
  • Initiate appropriate emergency medications, interventions, and resuscitation protocols within the scope of practice.
  • Ensure readiness and availability of the Emergency/Crash Cart, AED/defibrillator, oxygen supply, emergency medicines, and other essential equipment.
  • Conduct regular checks of emergency equipment, medicines, expiry dates, and emergency supplies.
  • Assist in managing adverse reactions and complications associated with diagnostic procedures, including contrast administration, wherever applicable.
  • Coordinate with ambulance services and receiving hospitals for transfer of patients requiring higher levels of care.
  • Provide appropriate handover and clinical information to the receiving hospital/emergency team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all emergency interventions, medications administered, patient condition, and clinical outcomes.
  • Participate in mock drills, emergency preparedness activities, and resuscitation training.
  • Support and train relevant centre staff in emergency response procedures, BLS, and basic emergency preparedness.
  • Follow infection control, patient safety, clinical quality, and organizational protocols.
  • Escalate critical cases promptly to the Senior Departmental Consultants, Group Medical Director, or designated clinical authority.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable medical, legal, and regulatory requirements.

Position: Emergency Medical Officer – ACLS Certified

Department: Emergency / Clinical Operations

Location: House of Diagnostics (HOD) – Diagnostic Centre

Reporting To: Group Medical Director / Medical Director/Doctors

Job Purpose

The Emergency Medical Officer will be responsible for providing immediate medical assessment and emergency care to patients at the diagnostic centre, particularly during medical emergencies arising before, during, or after diagnostic procedures. The officer will ensure timely intervention, stabilization, and coordination with emergency/critical care services when required.

Key Responsibilities

ACLS & Certification Mandatory

  • Valid ACLS certification is mandatory for the position.

  • The officer will be expected to participate in periodic emergency response drills and competency assessments.
