Job description

The Medical Officer - ER-ICU will be responsible for managing emergency and intensive care patients, supporting critical care treatment, monitoring patient condition, and coordinating with consultants, nurses, and clinical teams. This requires strong emergency response skills, clinical decision-making, patient assessment ability, and hospital documentation discipline. The candidate will ensure timely medical care, patient safety, and smooth clinical operations in ER and ICU departments.

• Assess and manage patients admitted in emergency and ICU areas.
• Provide immediate medical care for emergency, critical, and unstable patients.
• Monitor vitals, clinical condition, treatment response, and patient progress regularly.
• Assist consultants in diagnosis, treatment planning, procedures, and critical care decisions.
• Handle emergency cases, resuscitation support, and urgent medical interventions as required.
• Coordinate with nursing staff for medication administration, investigations, and patient monitoring.
• Review laboratory reports, radiology findings, and clinical records for timely action.
• Maintain accurate patient case sheets, progress notes, treatment orders, and discharge summaries.
• Communicate patient condition and treatment updates to consultants and senior doctors.
• Follow hospital protocols for ER care, ICU management, infection control, and patient safety.
• Support admission, transfer, referral, and discharge processes as per hospital policy.
• Attend code blue, emergency calls, and critical patient situations promptly.
• Ensure proper documentation of procedures, consent, medication orders, and clinical observations.
