Job summary

Tekskills Inc. in India seeks a senior embedded software engineer with strong C/C++ and Linux kernel programming skills to work on OpenWRT-based networking solutions.

The role requires hands-on experience with REST APIs, microservices, and modern cloud orchestration, plus proficiency with Git and test automation frameworks. The candidate should be familiar with WiFi protocols, TCP/IP networking, and wireless standards (Wi-Fi 5/6/6E/7), and preferably has telecom or networking domain exposure.

Qualifications

• Extensive C/C++ programming experience with kernel-level work.
• Strong Linux kernel programming background.
• Experience designing REST APIs and microservices.
• Hands-on with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis) is a plus.
• Proficient with Git version control and workflow.
• Experience building OpenWRT packages (OPKG/RPM) is required.
• Strong debugging, performance tuning, and test automation skills.
• Scripting skills in Python, Groovy, and BusyBox shell tooling.
• Solid understanding of WiFi protocols, TCP/IP networking, and related standards.
• Telecom or networking domain experience is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with cloud platform orchestration and distributed systems.

Description:

• Updated JD: Strong programming experience (around 10 years) in C, C++.
• Experienced Linux Kernel Programming.
• Familiarity with:
• REST APIs / Microservices architecture
• Experience with databases:
• Experience in Ovs-db networking database
• NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Git (commit, branch, merge, rebase)
• Experience in test automation framework to do smoke testing.
• Strong experience with developing features for OpenWRT and experience in creating package like OPKG and RPM is a must.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills
• Experience in bootstrapping development and Strong scripting skills python, groovy, busyBox(ash and tools), etc.
• Understanding of:
• WiFi protocols and standards
• Networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, DHCP, DNS, Multicast, Map-T, IP administration)
• Experience in Wi-Fi concepts like AP, Hotspot, Security, Bands, etc
• Experience in telecom or networking domain is highly preferred
• WiFi standards (Wi-Fi 5/6/6E/7), CPE, DOCSIS, RDKB or any native broadband solutions is an must.
• Exposure to performance optimization in networked systems
• Experience working with cloud platform to understand the orchestration between systems.
