Job summary

Tekskills Inc. Bengaluru-based team is seeking a senior systems software engineer with around 10 years of C/C++ experience, strong Linux kernel programming, and hands-on networking expertise.

You will design and implement features for OpenWRT, create packages (OPKG, RPM), and work with REST APIs, microservices, NoSQL databases like MongoDB/Redis, and cloud orchestration. Expect deep debugging, performance tuning, and footprint optimization in telecom/networking domains.

Qualifications

• Strong programming experience (≈10 years) in C and C++.
• Extensive Linux kernel programming experience.
• Familiar with REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience with OpenWRT development and packaging (OPKG/RPM).
• Networking domain knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing).
• Experience with cloud orchestration and networked systems.
• Hands-on with Git and test automation for smoke testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop features for OpenWRT and create OPKG/RPM packages.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize performance of networked systems.
• Work with REST APIs, microservices, and cloud orchestration.
• Contribute to WiFi protocols and standards knowledge.

Description:

• Updated JD: Strong programming experience (around 10 years) in C, C++.
• Experienced Linux Kernel Programming.
• Familiarity with:
• REST APIs / Microservices architecture
• Experience with databases:
• Experience in Ovs-db networking database
• NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Git (commit, branch, merge, rebase)
• Experience in test automation framework to do smoke testing.
• Strong experience with developing features for OpenWRT and experience in creating package like OPKG and RPM is a must.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills
• Experience in bootstrapping development and Strong scripting skills python, groovy, busyBox(ash and tools), etc.
• Understanding of:
• WiFi protocols and standards
• Networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, DHCP, DNS, Multicast, Map-T, IP administration)
• Experience in Wi-Fi concepts like AP, Hotspot, Security, Bands, etc
• Experience in telecom or networking domain is highly preferred
• WiFi standards (Wi-Fi 5/6/6E/7), CPE, DOCSIS, RDKB or any native broadband solutions is an must.
• Exposure to performance optimization in networked systems
• Experience working with cloud platform to understand the orchestration between systems.
