Job summary

Tata Projects is seeking an ELV Design Engineer to create schematics and layout drawings for ELV systems, and perform sizing and calculations across multiple EPC projects. The role involves coordinating with suppliers, supporting testing and commissioning, and ensuring design alignment with HVAC, structural and electrical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunication Engineering is required.
• 4–8 years of design experience in Oil & Gas, Data Center, Petrochemical, Refinery or similar industrial EPC projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM) and specialized ELV design software is essential.

Responsibilities

• Create schematic diagrams, block diagrams and layout drawings for ELV systems.
• Perform cable sizing, battery backup sizing and bandwidth calculations.
• Review technical submittals from suppliers and select compliant equipment.
• Resolve site installation queries and support testing and commissioning.
• Prepare Concept Design Reports and Detailed Design Engineering packages for design phase.
• Draft technical specifications for material requisitions during procurement phase.
• Review contractor shop drawings and material approvals during construction phase.

Key Duties by Project Phase

• Design Phase:
  • Prepare Concept Design Reports and Detailed Design Engineering packages.
  • Design CCTV, access control, public address, fire alarm, and BMS networks.
  • Coordinate layouts with other disciplines like HVAC, structural, and electrical teams.
• Procurement Phase:
  • Draft technical specifications for material requisitions.
  • Evaluate vendor bids for technical compliance.
• Construction Phase:
  • Review contractor shop drawings and material approvals.
  • Inspect site work for quality and design compliance.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunication Engineering.
• Experience: 4 to 8 years of relevant design experience Oil & Gas, Dat Center, Petrochemical ,Refinery or any other industrial EPC projects.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and specialized ELV design software.
• Standards: Knowledge of international codes like TIA/EIA, NFPA, and local civil defense regulations.
