Job summary

Innovative Instruments & Controls in Chennai seeks an experienced Inventory/Store Executive to maintain stock records for electrical items and ensure accurate movement using ERP. You will receive materials against POs, verify against invoices, organize layout by brand and category (Siemens, ABB, Schneider, PLCs, VFDs, HMIs), and issue items to production with proper receipts.

Candidates should have Diploma/ITI in Electrical Eng or equivalent, 2–5 years in store/inventory, and familiarity with

Qualifications

  • Diploma/ITI in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years in store/inventory management, preferably in electrical/industrial products distribution.
  • Familiarity with electrical/automation components (PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, contactors, MCBs, cables).
  • Working knowledge of inventory/ERP software (Tally, SAP, or similar) and MS Excel.
  • Basic understanding of GST-related documentation for stock movement.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate stock records of all electrical items using inventory software/ERP.
  • Receive materials against purchase orders; verify quantity, quality, and specs against invoices/delivery challans.
  • Organize store layout with bin/rack labeling by brand and category.
  • Issue materials to production/service teams against requisitions; maintain issue-return records.
  • Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies with system records.
  • Monitor minimum stock levels and raise indent/reorder requests to avoid stockouts.
  • Coordinate with Purchase, Sales, and Production on material availability and lead times.
  • Prepare periodic stock reports for management review and support audits.

About the Role

Maintain accurate stock records of all electrical items (incoming, outgoing, and balance) using inventory software/ERP.Receive materials against purchase orders; verify quantity, quality, and specifications (brand, part number, rating) against invoices and delivery challans.Organize store layout for easy identification and retrieval — bin/rack labeling by brand (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Delta, Omron, Schneider, ABB, Danfoss) and category (PLC, VFD, HMI, control panel components).Issue materials to production/service teams against authorized requisition slips; maintain issue-return records.Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies with system records.Monitor minimum stock levels and raise indent/reorder requests to Purchase team to avoid stockouts.Ensure proper storage conditions for sensitive electronic components (ESD precautions, moisture control, temperature).Maintain documentation: GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes), stock ledgers, material issue vouchers, and e-way bill/invoice records for inward-outward movement.Coordinate with Purchase, Sales, and Production teams on material availability and lead times.Ensure compliance with safety norms in storage and handling of electrical goods.Prepare periodic stock reports (aging stock, fast/slow-moving items, dead stock) for management review.Support audits (internal/external) with accurate documentation and stock reconciliation.

Key Requirements
  • Diploma/ITI in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • 2–5 years of experience in store/inventory management, preferably in electrical, automation, or industrial products distribution.
  • Familiarity with electrical/automation components (PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, contactors, MCBs, cables) is highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of inventory/ERP software (Tally, SAP, or similar) and MS Excel.
  • Basic understanding of GST-related documentation (invoices, e-way bills) for stock movement.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage physical inventory efficiently.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams
