Head Electrical Automation
Role Summary
The Head Electrical Automation will be responsible for leading the design, development, and execution of electrical controls for stamping scrap handling, chip and coolant management solutions. The role includes electrical control panel engineering, PLC & HMI programming, plant electrical maintenance, team leadership, customer interface, and driving automation excellence aligned with Industry 4.0 practices. The position shall serve as the single-point owner for all electrical and automation systems across both product engineering and plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Automation Engineering
- Lead the design and development of electrical control panels in compliance with applicable standards and customer specifications.
- Oversee PLC programming, HMI development, and system integration for automation projects.
- Ensure robust and reliable electrical architecture for machines and systems.
- Drive standardization and continuous improvement in electrical design practices.
- PLC & Automation Systems
- Develop and supervise PLC programming using leading platforms such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen‑Bradley and other equivalent systems.
- Configure industrial communication protocols including Profinet, Profibus, and similar industrial networks.
- Carry out commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization at customer sites.
- Plant Electrical Maintenance
- Oversee electrical maintenance activities of the manufacturing plant and utilities.
- Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems, panels, and equipment.
- Maintain electrical safety standards and statutory compliance.
- Improve equipment uptime through structured maintenance practices and root cause analysis.
- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
- Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Build, mentor, and manage a team of electrical and automation engineers and maintenance personnel.
- Allocate resources and guide project execution to meet timelines and quality standards.
- Establish engineering best practices, documentation standards, and training programs.
- Engineering Planning & Costing
- Selection of electrical and automation components based on technical and commercial suitability.
- Prepare electrical BOMs, technical specifications, and support project costing.
- Optimize designs for performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
- Customer Interface
- Act as the technical interface with customers for automation-related discussions.
- Participate in technical reviews, approvals, and problem resolution.
- Provide technical support during project execution and commissioning phases.
- Industry 4.0 & Digitalization
- Drive adoption of Industry 4.0 concepts including connectivity, data acquisition, remote monitoring, and smart diagnostics.
- Support integration of automation systems with higher-level manufacturing or monitoring platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering (Masters preferred).
- 1215 years of experience in industrial automation and electrical system design and maintenance.
- Proven experience in machine automation or industrial equipment manufacturing.
