Job summary

The position oversees electrical operations at a Waste-to-Energy plant in India, responsible for reliable power generation, distribution, and grid interconnection. You will lead maintenance strategies, supervise equipment performance, and ensure safety and compliance with national standards.

You will coordinate with EPCs, vendors, and cross-functional teams, implement energy optimization initiatives, and drive continuous improvements in plant uptime and efficiency.

• Proficiency in reading SLDs, cable schedules, layouts, and protection schemes.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall electrical operations, maintenance, and reliability of the WtE plant, including power generation, distribution, and grid interconnection systems.
• Oversee design review, installation, testing, commissioning, and performance of electrical equipment: generators, transformers, HT/LT switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, motors, DG sets, UPS, battery systems, and earthing/lightning protection.
• Manage power system studies, load management, synchronization with the grid, and optimization of electrical systems for energy recovery from MSW.
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance strategies to maximize plant uptime.
• Ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with process, mechanical, instrumentation, and SCADA/DCS/PLC controls.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, vendors, consultants, and cross-functional teams during project execution and O&M phases.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, Indian regulations, IS/IEC standards, environmental norms, and plant HSE protocols (LOTO, PTW).
• Manage electrical team (engineers, supervisors, technicians), including manpower planning, training, performance management, and competency development.
• Oversee spare parts management, inventory control, vendor development, and procurement within budget.
• Monitor KPIs (availability, reliability, specific energy consumption) and drive continuous improvement and energy efficiency initiatives.
• Handle statutory inspections, audits, documentation, and interface with grid authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Support troubleshooting of complex electrical faults and root-cause analysis for major breakdowns.

• Manage power system studies, load management, synchronization with the grid, and optimization of electrical systems for efficient energy recovery from municipal solid waste.
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance strategies to maximize plant uptime and minimize downtime.
• Ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with process, mechanical, instrumentation, and SCADA/DCS/PLC controls.
• Supervise and coordinate with EPC contractors, vendors, consultants, and cross-functional teams during project execution and O&M phases.
• Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety standards, CEA regulations, Indian Electricity Rules, IS/IEC standards, environmental norms, and plant-specific HSE protocols (including LOTO, PTW, etc.).
• Manage electrical team (engineers, supervisors, and technicians), including manpower planning, training, performance management, and competency development.
• Oversee spare parts management, inventory control, vendor development, and procurement of electrical materials/services within budget.
• Monitor key performance indicators (availability, reliability, specific energy consumption), prepare reports, and drive continuous improvement and energy efficiency initiatives.
