Job summary

Oryxwork in Karnataka, India, seeks an Electrical Estimation Engineer – LV Switchgear to prepare technically accurate and commercially competitive estimates for engineered-to-order and standard LV switchgear and electrical control panels.

You will review customer requirements, drawings and specifications, develop panel designs, select components, prepare BOMs, perform electrical calculations and coordinate with suppliers, consultants, customers, and internal engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Typically 2–5 years of relevant LV switchgear experience.
• Experience in estimation and panel design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive technical and commercial estimates based on BOQ, SLDs, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Develop detailed BOM/MTO for complete LV switchgear assemblies.
• Prepare material, fabrication, assembly, testing, engineering and other project-related cost components.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations and negotiate technically suitable alternatives to achieve competitive pricing.
• Identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities without compromising technical compliance.
• Prepare revised estimates based on customer clarifications and design changes.

ELECTRICAL ESTIMATION ENGINEER – LV SWITCHGEAR

OVERVIEW

As an Electrical Estimation Engineer – LV Switchgear at Oryxwork, you will be responsible for preparing technically accurate and commercially competitive estimates for engineered-to-order (ETO) and standard low-voltage switchgear and electrical control panels. The role involves reviewing customer requirements, drawings and specifications, developing panel designs, selecting suitable components, preparing Bills of Materials (BOM), performing electrical calculations, and coordinating with suppliers, consultants, customers, and internal engineering teams.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands‑on experience in LV switchgear design, estimation, costing, technical documentation, and panel engineering, with a good understanding of IEC standards and major switchgear OEMs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare accurate and competitive technical and commercial estimates based on BOQ, SLDs, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Develop detailed BOM/MTO (Material Take-Off) for complete LV switchgear assemblies.
• Prepare material, fabrication, assembly, testing, engineering and other project-related cost components.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations and negotiate technically suitable alternatives to achieve competitive project pricing.
• Identify cost‑saving and value‑engineering opportunities without compromising technical compliance or project requirements.
• Prepare revised estimates based on customer clarifications, design changes and commercial negotiations.

TECHNICAL & SOFTWARE EXPERTISE

• Proficient in AutoCAD and EPLAN Electric P8.
• Strong understanding of LV switchgear components and OEMs such as:
• Eaton, Siemens, ABB, Schneider, Legrand
• Experience in busbar sizing and electrical calculations for engineered-to-order LV switchboards.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Typically, 2–5 years of relevant experience in LV switchgear manufacturing, panel building, electrical contracting, estimation or design engineering.
• Candidates with direct experience in LV switchgear estimation and panel design will be preferred.
• Strong analytical, commercial and technical communication skills.
• Ability to independently interpret technical specifications and convert customer requirements into a technically compliant and commercially competitive proposal.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to work within tender/project deadlines.
