Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Vadodara, India is seeking a Control Design Engineer to join our Global Engineering Center.

You will develop and refine control designs for distribution transformers, create detailed electrical schematics, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure robust, standards-compliant solutions. The role requires a BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or Automation and 2–8 years of experience in controls & panel design, with proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
• 2–8 years in controls & panel design, programming, and implementation in an industrial setting.
• Experience with electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
• Solid knowledge of electrical schematics; PID control and motor control principles.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Basic knowledge of IEEE, UL508 and NFPA70 standards.
• Basic understanding of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP/IP).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
• Willingness to travel to other Hitachi factories when required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine detailed control designs, including hardware and software specifications for distribution transformers.

• Develop and support functional testing plans for new control cabinets, including on-site startup and calibration.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot existing control panels, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
• Stay updated on emerging controls technologies and best practices; propose innovative solutions.
• Prepare detailed documentation, including functional specs, test plans, and work instructions.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with project requirements and safety standards.

Your background

• B.E / B. Tech Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 2 to 8 Years working in controls & panel design, programming, and implementation in an industrial environment. Candidates with higher experience also to be considered.
• Experience with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
