Job summary

Hitachi Energy Technology Services Private Limited is seeking a skilled Controls Design Engineer in Maneja, Gujarat, India. The role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing advanced control panels for power transformers to ensure performance and reliability.

The candidate will create electrical schematics and control layouts using AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN, collaborate with engineers and project managers, and support testing and on-site startup activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a closely related field.
• 4+ years of experience in controls or panel design, programming, and implementation in an industrial environment.
• Experience with electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
• Solid knowledge of electrical schematics; PID control, and motor control principles.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Basic knowledge of IEEE, UL508 and NFPA70 standards.
• Basic understanding of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP/IP).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
• Ability to travel to other Hitachi factories when required.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine detailed controls design, including hardware and software specifications for power transformers.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and project teams to integrate control systems seamlessly.
• Develop and support functional testing plans for new control cabinets, including on-site startup, calibration, and performance tuning.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing control panels, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
• Stay updated on emerging controls engineering technologies and best practices and propose innovative solutions.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, including functional specifications, test plans and work instructions.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with project, safety, and regulatory standards.
