Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Global Engineering Center in Vadodara, India. You will contribute to the design of distribution transformers up to 4 MVA/36 kV, generating windings, tanks and externals that meet factory guidelines and international standards.

You will prepare manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and customer documents while coordinating with an international design team to optimize performance and reliability. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• B.E / B. Tech Mechanical Engineering.
• 2 to 8 Years working in Mechanical design for Distribution oil filled, Transformers manufacturing Industry.
• Knowledge on CAD software, any 3D Modelling software is a must. Creo is considered as an advantage.
• Understand Transformer Design, Mechanical Calculations, Dielectrics, clearance/creepage, basic layout and cleats lead arrangement.
• Good understanding of IS/ IEC /IEEE Standards & Canadian Standards.
• Experience in winding design / Tank & externals is an advantage.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.

Responsibilities

• Generate active part and windings/ Tank & externals meeting factory limitation, guideline, and checklist as per IEEE / IEC /IS standards.
• Prepare Customer documents, Manufacturing drawings, Bill of materials etc & submission to customer as per project schedule.
• Coordinate design activities within a worldwide factories network.
• Demonstrate team building and networking skills and work with technical teams across the world.

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Business Unit Transformers to join our innovative and forward-thinking team in the Global Engineering Center in Vadodara, India, you will play a crucial role in the development and design of innovative products and systems that meet our customer needs and industry standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project specifications are met while adhering to industry standards and design best practices. Your expertise in engineering principles and practices will contribute to optimizing designs for performance, functionality, and sustainability.

• The success candidate will be the part of an International Design and Engineering Team specialized in Oil Distribution Transformer up to 4 MVA 36 kV Class design covering different countries.
• Responsible to generate active part and windings/ Tank & Externals meeting factory limitation, guideline, and checklist as per IEEE / IEC /IS standards.
• Responsible for Preparation of Customer documents, Manufacturing drawings, Bill of materials etc & submission to customer as per project schedule.
• Understanding of Transformer mechanical design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics
• Coordinating design activities within a worldwide factories network.
• Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference.
• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.

  Your background
