Job summary

Marine Electricals is seeking an experienced LV Panel Design Engineer to lead electrical design, documentation and technical support for Low Voltage panels such as PCC, MCC, APFC, AMF, ATS, DBs and control panels.

The role covers preparing designs and drawings, SLDs and wiring diagrams, selecting components, and providing support during FAT, inspection, commissioning and testing. Collaboration with production, procurement and project teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in LV panel design and electrical schematics.
• Ability to size busbars and cables and perform short-circuit and voltage-drop calculations.
• Strong attention to detail for BOM/MTO and revision control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical designs and drawings for LV panels based on customer specifications and standards.
• Develop SLDs, GA drawings, schematic/control drawings, wiring diagrams and termination drawings.
• Select switchgear, busbars, protection devices, meters, relays and other components.
• Perform busbar sizing, cable sizing, short-circuit and voltage-drop calculations and load calculations.
• Prepare BOM/MTO and ensure correct component selection and quantities.
• Coordinate with production, procurement, sales, project and testing teams.
• Review vendor/component technical details and ensure IEC compliance.
• Provide technical support during FAT, inspection, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Maintain engineering documents and revision control.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical designs and drawings for LV panels based on customer specifications and applicable standards.
• Develop SLD (Single Line Diagrams), GA drawings, schematic/control drawings, wiring diagrams, and termination drawings.
• Select suitable switchgear, busbars, protection devices, meters, relays, contactors, and other electrical components.
• Perform busbar sizing, cable sizing, short-circuit calculations, voltage-drop calculations, and load calculations.
• Prepare BOM/MTO and ensure correct component selection and quantities.
• Review customer specifications, technical documents, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with production, procurement, sales, project, and testing teams.
• Review and approve vendor/component technical details where required.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable IEC standards and customer requirements.
• Incorporate design changes and resolve technical issues during manufacturing and testing.
• Provide technical support during FAT, inspection, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain engineering documents, revision control, and project records.
